GOP has tough road to win House
Politico ^ | 9/21/10 | MARTIN FROST

Posted on 09/21/2010 6:51:10 AM PDT by paudio

For the past month, most of the national press has been uncritically swallowing a steady diet of Republican propaganda: The race for the House is over; the Republicans have already won.

As someone who has been involved in congressional politics for more than 30 years and served as Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee chairman for the 1996 and 1998 cycles, I questioned this. Instead, I took a state-by-state look at the electoral map, particularly after POLITICO published a bipartisan Battleground Poll on Sept. 16 that showed the generic ballot between Republicans and Democrats to be a 43 percent to 43 percent dead heat nationally.

As with all mid-term elections, this one will hinge on turnout. Republicans are simply more motivated than Democrats this year, and that is unlikely to change. But there is another factor at work - non-affiliated/independent voters constitute a larger block than in the recent past, and they have swung hard toward the GOP. By focusing on party identification and presumed registration numbers, Frost et al. are missing the coming wave.

Yes, but better to run with the mindset that it is a) close, and yet b) we are still behind.

Then you ramp up into triple strength and go the full nine yards to get out the vote, runnning scared, as if everything depended on it. Which it does. This will be the Republic we are voting on a few weeks.

RAT/RINO enemies within haven’t had their dirty laundry exposed enough yet. Highlight and expose the votes they cast against the American people, their Ruling Class/anti-American comments, and their voting YES on laws that harm the American people without evening reading the bill. Dig out the under-the-table money they sucked out of lobbyists and the deals they made with Satan to keep their power.

No more being the nice guys. Investigate and expose their foul deeds and dirt; expose it to the world. Special Emphasis on sore, whining losers who won’t relinquish power.

Most of the polls that show the race a dead heat are polls of “Americans” which is essentially anybody with a pulse that answers the phone. In most off year election less than 50% of “Americans” vote, that's why GOOD pollsters like Rasmussen whittle the the results down to “likely voters”. So yes, it is very possible for dems and republicans to be evenly split among “Americans” and Republicans up 10% among “likely voters”.

I don't believe in complacency and I don't think there is much of that in the Tea Party ranks. We are eager to vote, win and start taking our country back.

This happy-face analysis of the upcoming election results by Martin Frost, a former congressman, is what is sometimes called 'whistling past the graveyard'. A frightened persons attempt to comfort himself by willfully ignoring what frightens him, in this case, a Republican electoral tsunami in 42 days. Playing with numbers and offering meaningless speculation is easy and, perhaps, comforting to Democrats. Well, come November 3rd, at least Martin Frost will be able to honestly tell all the Democrat losers that "I know how you feel".

Um. . .what? I sure haven't heard that from the "national press." As is the habit of libs, this one is lying.

also bear in mind how many Hillary voters went independent after 2008, they are out for revenge, there is a sizeable chunk of voters that are former Clinton Dems voting republican to take down Obama.

The questions is: Will the ‘rat Congress be able to scuttle the ship of state before they are forced to walk the plank in January?

Frankly, I like reading what the Dems are saying and thinking. It’s always good to get inside the head of the opposition.””

I think they’re in the denial stage right now. This whole movement has been dissed by both sides of the aisle for some time and since it hasn’t gone away they’re questioning that it’s even much of a factor.

To my way of thinking this is very good news. Only a blind man at this point could think the dims are running neck and neck on a generic ballot. Having said that, we can’t let up, we haven’t accomplished anything yet.

“Frankly, I like reading what the Dems are saying and thinking. It’s always good to get inside the head of the opposition.”

Congratulations, then. I’ve never been able to even remotely figure out why those blockheads think what they think... indeed, if it can be called thinking at all.

The only constants I can see is that:

A) They lie. All the time. Literally. As in “every single thing they say.”

B) They are incoherent. Literally. All the time. The bedrock of Liberal Logic is “A = B, therefore you suck and we win!”

C) They have the maturity level of seven year olds. If they don’t get their way, they call names and rant like little children. If they lose an election, they are invariably bad sports - if they don’t out and out try and find a way to overturn the election results in their favor, by lying, cheating, or using fellow travelers in the Court system.

I honestly believe they should not only be kicked out of office - each and every one of them, but not allowed to hold any position of authority over anyone ever again anywhere - including positions where their warped and dangerous views corrupt the thinking (and thus the welfare) of others. They should not be hired as teachers. They should not be hired as reporters. Actually, since they’re lazy and useless by nature, they should not be hired as anything because they’re likely just to try and “game the system,” do as little work as possible and screw everything up just to “stick it to the man.”

Their own poll showed the GOP had +8 point lead in the generic balloting among likely voters. like the song says "You spin me around right round right round, like a record baby..." The poll he quotes is from the registered voter portion. Denial is not a river in Egypt.

Martin Frost. I know him well. He could not defeat Pelosi for the house leadership position and he went downhill from there.

This is just a voice crying out in the face of certain doom.
