“It’s too late; it’ll just have to be stopped in the Senate,” Tom, the young male answering the phone in U.S. Rep. John Boehner’s (R-Ohio)Washington D.C. office, said about HR 3534 (CLEAR Act). This is the globalist bill designed to give away our land, oceans, adjacent land masses and Great Lakes to an international body, and makes us pay $900 million per year until 2040.
HR 3534 is a thinly disguised permanent roadblock to American energy which drives American companies out of the Gulf, delays future drilling, increases dependency on foreign oil, implements climate change legislation and youth education programs; but most important, it mandates membership in the Law of the Sea Treaty without the required two-thirds vote to ratify it in the U.S. Senate.
The House passed the CLEAR Act (HR 3534) 209-193, July 30, 2010. This bill was originally introduced July 8, 2009, but was resurrected by the recent Deep Water Horizon oil spill crisis. According to www.govtrack.us, a debate may be taking place on a companion bill in the Senate, rather than on this particular bill. This bill was read for the second time Aug. 4, 2010, and placed on the Senate Legislative Calendar under General Orders, Calendar No. 510. No official Senate Bill number exists as of yet.

This seems to have slipped under the radar. We should have heard the Republicans opposing this loud and clear. It certainly should have been loud enough for the U. S. public to pick up on and speak out against.
Have others been aware of this? Am I the only one to not have heard of it?
If those in DC are voting to give up our coastlines to the UN, it is indeed time to head up there with far more than pitchforks.

Those aren't "American" companies, they're "global" companies anyway.
And besides, if Boehner was really serious about reducing our dependence on foreign Oil,
he'd support efforts to upgrade our passenger-rail infrastructure which is much more energy efficient than either airline or highway travel.

If rail travel were more efficient, it would be cheaper. Which it is not.
What is needed is the removal of government impediments to energy development, not more government distortions of the market.

We don't take cars or planes because they are "energy efficient", we take them because they give us more FREEDOM.
Keep the American people distracted while covertly slipping legislation, regulation, treaties into place.

Slipped under the radar hell. We work for a living. How could we possibly keep up with all the subterfuge that is taking place in the government?
We knew about this but didn’t know they were going to vote on it. Would it have mattered anyway? We were focused on the spinate and the despicable dream act and repeal of don’t ask don’t tell. A telephone campaign can only accomplish so much and be done only so often especially when we aren’t be represented but instead being dictated to.
What I can’t get over is that we are paying these sons-of-bitches to do these things to us and are powerless to stop it any more often than in two year cycles. Armored dozers keep popping up in my mind. Not for the capitol but for the house and spinate office buildings and a bunch of cars and that damn tunnel and little subway train they ride around on. We should not make the same mistakes the guy in Granby, Colorado did. It would be a one way trip but worth the effort.
The reason it slipped under the radar is that the Republicans work for the International Bankers just like the Democrats.

Cars and jets go to a lot of place trains cannot. Trains are only useful in densly populated area. Almost all of Amtrak is FEDERALLY SUBSIDIZED, the only profitable area is the Northeast Corridor. If America is serious about energy independence, and our survival depends on that, see my tagline.

Why not just use the nearly 300 year supply of oil we have inside the Continental US? No need to drill in the oceans, we have every drop we need for at least the next two and a half centuries (plenty of time to get a nuclear-based infrastructure going)...
And if YOU were serious about saving oil (rather than using what we have), you'd get off your dumb train kick and push vanpools (micro-transit) and hybrids, both of which are MUCH more fuel efficient than trains.
How about it, Willie? You want to stop using foreign oil? Then how about pushing to use the oil we have here (we have plenty, at costs lower than what we pay today), and pushing to reduce our consumption by using the lowest consumption solutions (vanpools and hybrids)?
One helluva lot of Americans who prefer personal freedom and mobility over being herded into government subsidized boxcars that only go places they don't want to go.

OK, the UN isn't mentioned anywhere in it. How's that for a start?
We are the militia. We are sitting on our hands, while our treasure and our very means of existing are being taken from us. And we tell ourselves that soon a Republican (or a wave of them) will come and save us; will turn back the clock, resetting America to a free economy and some basic fear of the Lord.
People under siege always holler that the enemy has come for their guns. But the enemy comes for our spirits.
And they come for the minds of our children; and for our food and water, after which our spirits are somewhat easier pickings.
So I don't scan the hill, looking for the cavalry here.

By asserting UN authority over seven-tenths of the Earth's surface, LOST would be the largest territorial conquest in history.
In principle, the treaty would assert UN jurisdiction over U.S. territorial waters, and eventually over waterways within our country.
It would create a huge bureaucratic entity called the "Enterprise," which would regulate and tax all commercial uses of the high seas.
By taxing all efforts to develop the wealth of the seabed, the UN would be given a huge revenue stream, independent of national governments to push its agenda for international socialism.
The treaty would require the redistribution of cutting-edge technology from the U.S. to all governments in the "developing world," including extremely repressive governments.
This is not out of line with what I know about the treaty. We need to find out how this HR3534 will dovetail with the LOST treaty, because we know ALL liberals and many Republicans have a hard-on for that treaty.

Its purpose is to establish a comprehensive set of rules governing the oceans. The Law of the Sea Treaty calls for technology transfers and wealth transfers from developed to undeveloped nations, and requires parties to the treaty to adopt regulations and laws to control pollution of the marine environment – all under the authority of the United Nations. Such provisions were among the reasons President Ronald Reagan rejected the treaty in 1982.
