As to the verse in question, perhaps you need to do a bit more research on its meaning before you presume to lecture others on its proper use.

Maybe you should. Christians are called to tell people right from wrong. It's part of the message. Repentant sinners tell unrepentant sinners about sin and it's cost.

Hypocrisy comes in if an alcoholic tells others not to drink to excess while loaded. Or a thief telling others not to steal while picking their pocket.

And why wouldn’t he want his family to know?

Because he knew in his heart it was wrong.

Bingo.

So much for "pride", even in this ridiculous culture that treats Sodomy as sainthood.

Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

Reading the thread, I think you're both self-righteous.

Liberals literally “love” people to death don't they?

Yes but it's not real love. Real love tells the truth and the cost for sin. If someone really loves, they tell people the truth.

Wow. Are you seriously suggesting that suicide is the expected and appropriate consequence for the dead kid's sin? What other sins do you suggest, for which the consequence should be suicide?

You are reading what isn't there. It's a tragedy. That doesn't nullify the fact that homosexual acts are unnatural, unhealthy, immoral and the consequence of personality disorders. Nor the fact that the room mate was a stupid fool.

College should be about education, not illicit sex.

There is no expectation of privacy in a shared room. He was a naive kid who thought there was.

No one has any excuse.

Rom 2:15
They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts, for their own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are doing right.

Clearly the tapers are without common decency and will excuse the suicide as nothing to do with them.

I don’t trust our legal system to administer justice.
Take it from an old lady, when I was young I was callous to the consequences of things I did to myself or others, as well as tragedies I observed. With the years, life becomes more personal, more precious and those past events and memories are sharper, and more stinging than when they occurred.

I’d like to point out that, despite the pretences of the loudly self-identifying Christians on this thread, I haven’t seen a single person here defend this young man’s homosexuality.

Not sure what you mean here?

I've seen many expressions of sorrow that this young man took his life. Did you not see these? I said it was tragic.

Boy, imagine the embarassment of the arresting officers, County Prosecutor and the judge in that case.

Then again, you make a good point.

“Why does the guy not deserve privacy for a trist - he should do it in the hall? Would you feel the same about broadcasting if he were with a girl or wanted to be alone with a girl?”

All the same sin. Gay sex in the hall or dorm room is an abomination.

Sex by unmarried heteros is a sin as well.

I would love to see these two rich brat punks get sent away for twenty years.

It will never happen, though. New Jersey is not a state known for dishing out justice.

Actually no. We have a faction saying that the homosexual behavior of the young man was sad, wrong, and had consequences.

Thinking that the consequences of homosexuality are a loss of civil rights is a deeper mental illness than homosexuality.

Wait, I forgot - to the Gay Activism Crowd, not celebrating homosexuality is hate.

Thinking that defense of civil rights means approval of the actions of the person whose rights were violated is more proof of a very depraved mind. Strikingly similar to the mindset of an Iranian mullah.

Our school systems have dwelt on the acceptance of the homosexual lifestyle beginning in kindergarten.

I simply cannot comprehend violating someone else’s privacy, their space, for any nefarious reason.

Their actions were meant to hurt.

It chills me to my core.

Ok. You lost me on this one. My response didn't have anything to do with the above.

Nobody is defending homosexuality. We are defending the idea that a young man has taken his life and there are plenty on here who think he should be attacked instead of the ones that committed the crime that caused him to take his life. The things that have been said on here are DISGUSTING and grossly lacking in compassion. This is the kind of thrread that the left would use to discredit all conservatives, not just the hateful ones like yourself.
