John Bolton ‘very seriously’ considering 2012 presidential run
Townhall ^ | 10/1/10 | Guy Benson

I've just returned from a fascinating and wide-ranging interview with former US Ambassador to the United Nations, John Bolton. On the subject of electoral politics and personal ambition, Bolton has been playing a bit coy with the media in recent weeks, refusing to rule out a potential presidential bid in 2012.

This morning he waded further into the subject, telling me he's "very seriously" contemplating a White House run in 2012 and that he's begun consulting with high-level campaign operatives to discuss feasibility and logistics. Bolton cited what he described as President Obama's failures, the "wide open" Republican field, and the knowledge and experience he could bring to the table as the primary factors that sparked his interest in running. He also repeatedly stressed that an official decision is not imminent because his top focus remains working to help Republicans succeed in next month's midterm elections.

Does he think he can win? Could his rift with President Bush complicate his chances? How does he size up his potential Republican adversaries? Would he shave the 'stache?

For the answers to those questions and more, check back here early next week for a comprehensive write-up of our discussion.

Mrs Suhks recognized him in the parking lot of the Safeway here in Bethesda and thanked him for his service. He was very grateful and not at all pretentious.

I understand his views on foreign policy and Islam, and on that, I could easily support him. I would like to know what his stands on some other issues are.

Plus, I like the fact that he is prickly and combative towards leftists.

I believe it may have been William Howard Taft, just after Teddy Roosevelt.

I think you're right.

Taft was one of my favorite presidents. A Chief Justice and President in one!

I’ve wanted John Bolton to run ever since the ‘08 Election. I don’t know what his chances would be, but, I’m down for supporting him. At least a VP spot.......

I wonder if he's a big supporter of Mitt and RomneyCare like your current #1 crush, Jim DeMint?

I also wonder if you'll even respond to this post?

He could be a leech stuck on Mitt’s butt and not approach the level of BS your Precious has spewed out about McCain.

Interesting. I got some of these new dollar coins (the ones that moved “E Pluribus Unum” off the face and onto the edge...they had James Buchanan on the coin. Widely regarded as one of the worst presidents...made me wonder why.
