Seventy-Five Seats! Do I Hear 80?
Commentary Magazine ^ | 10/12/2010 | Jennifer Rubin

So much for the storyline that the Democrats have turned the corner in the midterm races. The New York Times tells us:

Republicans are expanding the battle for the House into districts that Democrats had once considered relatively safe, while Democrats began a strategy of triage

LOL. If your prediction comes true, I won't be able to get up on November 3rd cause my head will hurt too much!

I put my eggs in the basket in 2008. Little did I know it had a hole in it. Not this this time. I patched it up real good! Go America!

The best thing that will come out of this election is the neutering of Obama’s destructive anti-American agenda.

It’s gonna take a long time to undo the damage he’s already done, but now he’ll have a hostile Congress to deal with.

Today, Congress. Tomorrow, the White House!

...a big O-hole...

I think on election night I am gonna visit the cemetery just to make sure all the local dead are still accounted for and aren’t out there voting.

What will liberals do now that their liberal dreams will fade out?

I share your enthusiasm, but it is tempered by the knowledge that they will still have Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, agricultural subsidies and even Obamacare. In other words, liberals will still have a huge welfare state.

If the new majority fails to at least phase out these programs, we will still be going backwards.

Since the time of Woodrow Wilson and FDR and LBJ, the Republicans have NEVER reversed any of those big government expansions. Will this time be different? We’d better hope so, because time has run out.

Good question.

It depends on all of us. We've to watch them very closely and let them know our thoughts on any "delays, compromises, etc." right at their offices, call them and email them to let them know that the days of waiting till "next" election to throw them out are over.

Any politicians in states that have recall provisions should be aware of starting recall petitions for special elections immediately. No governors' appointments should be allowed.

Watch them like a hawk or fall back to business as usual!

Tomorrow couldn’t come soon enough. When the new congress is seated it ought to be made clear that impeachment is on the table, tyranny will not be tolerated, and that the Republic must stand for Liberty and Justice for All Americans - and those who foresake those principles are making themselves targets, putting BHO, Holder, Geithner and all those others still left standing in the administration and the congress on notice.

ABC World News Tonight anchor Peter Jennings in his daily ABC Radio commentary, November 14, 1994.

What jerk he was with that, and it still amazes me how he basically cast democrats and big government in the role of parents that failed to properly instruct and train us dumb voters and yet he was still able to cast himself as objective. Unreal. He was int he midst of his own erudite and well spoken temper tantrum about his team losing yet he was the one with no dog in the fight.

I have 3 days off, Monday (Nov 1st), Tuesday (2nd) (Woot) and Wednesday (3rd). To record and have fun those days! And to record the events for future watching!

"I want to watch MSNBC on election night..."

Same here. Much as I hate to give them ratings, the 6-8 hour angstfest will be something to remember.

I watched them during Scott Brown's election and the whining, sniveling and barely suppressed condescension for Mass. voters was about 1% of what it will be on Nov. 2nd.

(That's predicated on the hope that we turn out big.)

Exactly. I don’t mean to rain on the party. But we cannot afford to let up. We have to keep pushing and pushing until we get the rats out of office and either reform or, if necessary, replace the Republican Party.

We’re off to a good start!

Good point. Do NOT take a drink every time the conservatives pick up a Dem seat, or you won't make it past the polls closing on the east coast. I'm not betting on a pickup of 108, just four past the number that would get to you, but it's mathematically possible, and it gives us the numbers to override a veto. Unfortunately, the Senate cannot get to that level this year, but the House could be a beautiful thing.

No notice necessary, rather, start investigating the whole crew, including but not limited to, defunding the Czar business. If 0b0z0 wants them, fine, he pays their salaries, their aides and commissions from his own pocket. We'll see how long that will take without taxpayers' money!

0b0z0 should be put on notice regarding his “undocumented status!” Talking about blackmailing the POTUS, oops, I’m a racist, riiiiight!

The Czar business is straight up naked tryanny and should be near the top of that long long list of offenses to the Republic. Amen.

It’s not racist to stand for Justice. If he can’t prove his status, then Justice is not being served. It may have to be served to him at the point of a pitchfork.
