Posted on 10/26/2010 4:02:32 AM PDT by tobyhill
The Louisville Courier-Journal reports that a female MoveOn.org supporter was attacked by backers of Kentucky GOP Senate candidate Rand Paul on Monday when she attempted to approach Paul outside his final debate with Democrat Jack Conway in Lexington.
At one point, violence broke out when Lauren Valle of MoveOn.org approached Paul and tried to give him an "employee of the month award" from Republicorp. Republicorp is a fake business MoveOn created to symbolize what it says is the merger of the GOP and business interests controlling political speech. Television video shows Valle, of Washington, D.C., being pushed to the ground and at least one foot stepping down on her head.

Mess with the bull, ya get the horns...
They don’t put up with this kind of crap in Kentucky.
She was in disguise and attempting to approach Rand Paul to hand him some sort of object.
The left gets a taste of their own medicine. Sorry, at this point I have no pity...I’d like to stomp a few myself...
per the photo - it’s on her upper back / shoulder area as to contain her...
I love it whent he leftist cry like little babies when they don’t get their way - and the press writes this article as if completely shocked...
The media and the socialist need to grow up - this isn’t 6th grade anymore...adult US citizens have had enough of glorified hollywood types fromt eh media and other org’s like Move On telling them what’s best for them...
she got exactly what she dished out -
I know what you mean - I’m having a mother-in-law, cadillac, cliff moment here myself.
This kind of physical assault is wrong, but it IS a moveon.org person. I will enjoy the moment, but I will feel guilty (I’m trying to see what it feels like to be a “moderate”, lol)
I love the headlines this morning.
‘Woman assaulted by Rand Paul supporters.’
As if this was some innocent woman just walking by.
A whole lot more of the commies should be on the ground bleeding.....
Does this “activist” understand the meaning of the word “assault”? She is lucky she isn’t in jail (prob where she belongs, anyway).
If these assholes were SEIU thugs we'd be calling for a war. The truth is they were Paul supporters .
It doesn't matter one bit if the woman was from move-on. This was wrong.
What crime had she committed?
The larger point here is one of political violence. Anyone who applauds it in this case loses any moral standing when the tables are turned.
And that's a crime how?
She was in disguise and attempted to approach Rand Paul. How would they know her intent? They should have stripped her down to make sure she didn’t have a bomb or gun on her.
You are wrong on this.
Having said that, there have been no arrests as of yet. Makes one wonder if they should be referred to as "Rand Paul supporters" rather than Rand Paul supporters, if you take my meaning.
When someone selling flags outside of a Tea Party event is hit and called racial terms, it isn’t news. When people go to vote and are intimidated by armed black panthers, it isn’t news. However, let one wacko moveon.org lady get roughed up.... NEWS!!! Just a thought.
Correct. It did not appear that she was on the up and up.
Detention doesn’t include stepping on her head. Did you even see the video? Once she was on the ground and completely under control some asshole very intentionally stepped on her head. That my friend changes the incident entirely.
Clearly a case of assault with intent... this bitch was a hit bitch from soros. I hope she suffered some sort of permanent damage.
No one stepped on her head. She was forced to the ground and another man puts his foot on her upper back and gives a little “love” push. You can see someone pulling off a blond wig just before she is forced to the ground.
Ask George Wallace.
No, you are.
I just saw it on FOX. She was on the ground and the guy stepped on her head, and there was no reason for it. Period.
Reminds me of that stupid girl who duked it out with a bull dozer in Israel and got run over.
Her family is suing and bitching too.
Oh well, wrong place doing the wrong thing at the wrong time.
One thing is for sure. The media is going to use it to full extent against Paul.
Hmmmmmmmmm... Crunchy goodness.
I saw the video too. The woman was wrestled to the ground. The guy pushed her down with his foot on her lower back, which slipped to her head, in a way which seemed to be attempting to communicate to the woman "you stay on the ground and stop trying to get up", rather than a stomp intended to injure.
In these days, somebody approaching a candidate in disguise with an object is likely to be treated roughly. That said, the video is not helpful to Rand Paul's side.
I agree to a point. With everyone saying "stomping on her head" I was expecting a different visual than what I saw.
Still stupid. Almost too stupid.
This is plastered all over the lefty blogs now.
The guy is on film and is now vying with looter guy, tourist guy and the squirrel for internet stardom.
I'm curious to hear how he defends himself.
Paul did not orchestrate this. Miller did not orchestrate the arrest in Alaska. Yet somehow they look bad?
The bystanders were correct. It wouldn’t be unusual for a nut to try to harm a candidate....any public person in any public setting, actually.
Stand back and don’t make efforts a bodily contact unless invited to by the public person’s party.
It’s only reasonable for everyone to be cautious. Especially in this age where violent acts earn a nut instant media fame.
Foot on her lower back that slipped up to her head? Get real and take another look. I guarantee...that guy will be in handcuffs as soon as he’s identified.
That's exactly what I think happened here, Unk.
The person exhibited suspicious behavior headed towards the candidate.
The guys were yelling for the cops while they had her wrapped up and were taking her to the ground. I think they thought she had a bomb or a gun.
Not knowing if a bomb is going to detonate any second doesn't enhance polite societal behavior, at least not for me.
The assault is not the act of restraint by the first guy who takes her down, It is the foot to the head by the second guy after she was fully controlled and on the sidewalk in a fetal position.
If you don't have a problem with that then give me your address, I'll send you a pretty purple shirt.
Win-Win for the RATS. If she gives him the award they win. If she fails but gets stomped in the process, they win. This is not going to help Rand Paul’s campaign.
I watched the video again, and I stand by my interpretation. It was a shove rather than a stomp. He's a reasonably big guy. If he was trying to hurt her by stomping on her head, I guarantee to you she would not be standing, conscious, and talking immediately after.
Stand back and dont make efforts a bodily contact unless invited to by the public persons party.
Its only reasonable for everyone to be cautious. Especially in this age where violent acts earn a nut instant media fame.
“Had a similar event here in Alaska against Joe Miller, a very very liberal news reporter was trying to get in Joe Millers face, his intent was an altercation of absolutely any sort...”
This appears to be a RAT offensive designed to provoke violent responses from Republican supporters in an attempt to make them look like violent extremists. That would play nicely into their anti-tea party talking points. Don’t fall for it. Keep a level head and a civil tone when dealing with these provacateurs. We’ll kick their butts later.
...is there a video posted? I would like to see it -
Your interpretation was that his foot was on her lower back and it slipped. You have changed your interpretation quite a bit since now you call it a shove.
Lets see....she is a liberal so she is already a) Ugly, and 2) brain damaged.
I can't figure out what more you can do to liberals other than driving a stake through their heart and setting them on fire in the sunlight.
