I predict a Republican victory of tsunami proportions on November 2nd.
For the last six months in various public forums, I have said that Republicans will take both the House and Senate. Most political observers, citing statistics from various states, continue to say that, while it appears certain that the House will go Republican, there are too few Senate seats in play for a Republican takeover. Further, many pundits state that Democrats will preserve their control of the Senate because the Republican Party has undermined itself by fielding whacko and semi-whacko candidates from the "tea party" wing or otherwise offering inferior candidates, e.g., Christine O'Donnell in Delaware, Rand Paul in Kentucky, Sharron Angle in Nevada, Linda McMahon in Connecticut and Carly Fiorina in California.
Without being able to cite statistics that support my view, I nevertheless predict the Republicans will also take the Senate.

There may or may not be a tsunami. The more important question is whether there will be a conservative tsunami. Without that, we are only changing the slope of the downward spiral.
Liberals have finally tasted red meat and will not stand idly by while Republicans f&^% their hard won advantage! Nothing will matter if Republicans trash this break and squander the public confidence.. again. They BETTER 'dance with the one who brung ya', THIS TIME!
Interesting article. On the one hand, he gets it. There will be a Republican tidal wave.
On the other hand, he uses this opportunity to bash all the Republicans running in New York State. He’s seemingly fair and balanced, but he says, in effect, “Don’t vote for these Republican jerks.”
On the third hand, he’s certainly on the money with this quote: “Imagine what the Republicans could have done if they had really good and visionary leadership. But they don’t.”
In other words, no thanks to the Republican insider machine for this tidal wave. They are totally clueless, stupid, and corrupt. Well, he’s right about that. So, the big question will be whether the newcomers who are elected on November 2, and those running in 2012, will be able to reform the party.
Or not. If not, then it’s toast.
Ed Koch knows his history.
Another DNC “pundit” saying the GOP will win big so that if they don’t they will say they lost.
We will all, still, be waiting for a “conservative tsunami”, no matter what happens on November 2.
Yea....WE’ER the wackos.........rigggggght. But the numbskulls in DC who spend money like it’s water aren’t....OK.

How on earth did we fall so far in NY State? A year like this and we couldn't even field competitive candidates for ANY of the statewide offices? Pathetic. I'm still wondering how anyone in their right mind thought Carl Paladino would make for a good gubernatorial nominee.
...I believe, the coming November tsunami will roll across America and give the Republicans, who are undeserving of the honor, control of both Houses. The American public is enraged and wants to punish those who have been in charge of the country.
Let us hope so. We need to win the House and Senate to bring the Obama agenda to a complete standstill and block as many of his judicial nominees as possible.
Well said; Governor. We all pray you’re correct in your prediction. We also pray for the focus to hold all newly- electeds accountable from the get-go. So much needs cleaning up in Washington and locally, too. These people need to finally learn it’s about actually DOING something worthwhile; not just getting a power fix.
We cannot let up after this election. We may find the elite Republicans sliding back to their old ways. If they move just the slightest off course there will be pure hell on the phones/emails!
I still think its a good idea to storm the RNC convention.
“The more important question is whether there will be a conservative tsunami.”
I think we know that after a “republican tsunami” we will still have a government spending tsunami, and a deficit tsunami.
Government spending is the only relevant metric, and to expect anything but more spending (marginally less “more” for republicans) is to suffer delusions.
Gridlock between Repubs and Dems is the best a conservative can expect.
Joe DioGuardi seems like a decent candidate against the milquetoast Gillebrand.
But for some reason the entire media establishment seems to think New York is sitting out this republican groundswell...
DONT BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The polls were off by 31% in the primaries. Turnout was up 400% in some precincts. (heavily republican - there WAS NO primary challenger for democrat governor)
“We can only hope that Republicans can PUT ASIDE the BS squabbling and present a UNITED FRONT to there opposition.”
I hope P-P-P-Porky R-Rove g-g-gets the mem-memo.
Many can call Sharron Angle a whacko.
It won’t really matter.
There are signs all over this state saying DUMP REID & ANTONE BUT REID.
I have even seen it painted in black spray paint on the side of a large haystack on Hwy 95-A South of Yerington, Nevada.
People have had it with Reid in thie state.
I don’t think he would have been elected the last time, except for the illegals in Las Vegas. Clark County is Dirty Harry’s stronghold.
In that part of the country-—you don’t last 30++ years without being well ‘connected’.
The local Demorats in Nevada & California are having a hissy fit over the late rush of republican money coming into both states.
They never even whimper about the millions of dollars the UNIONS dump into anything Democrat each & every day of the year.
UNIONS are actually borrowing money to keep up the ads.
We cannot let up after this election”
In 2012, there will be another THIRD of the Senate that will have to run for re-election. Unless some of them, like Orrin Hatch throw in the towel. Utah is going after him. There is little he can do to save himself, based on info I am getting out of SLC. He has voted all over the map & actually sponsored some really strange legislation. Strange-—for a Republican.
We still have lots of weeding to do in the Senate garden.
ANTONE BUT REID ooops
ANYONE BUT REID
Hatch has had so many face lifts his brain has turned off! His biggest concern is his so called music career and changing the constitution “Arnold Amendmant”
Throw the POS out!
That’s a nice presentation, thank you.
BUMP THAT! Precisely so.
