What is it with the League of Womans Voters and the Pledge of Allegiance?
For the second time in less than a week a congressional debate began with a request for the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance, and for the second time in a week the League of Womans Voters moderator said no, and for the second time in a week the audience got up and said it anyway. One would think that with all of the bad publicity after last weeks incident, the League would have gotten it. But Tuesday night the League of Woman Voters proved that they arent too quick on the uptake.
The Pennsylvania 18th Congressional district debate between Republican incumbent Tim Murphy and his Democratic party challenger Dan Connolly was about to begin when Murphy asked the moderator for the pledge. As the moderator Susan Reuther began to make excuses, the crowd stood up and took action on their own.

A good example, actuall an excellent “example” for people to learn that they can take action and take this government back. Politicians need to learn that they work for us, we don’t work for them.

Tim Murphy is my congressman. He's a gentleman and he did the right thing by giving the League of Women Vipers the opportunity to do the right thing.
LWV claims to be non-partisan. In reality, they are only slightly to the left of the NEA.

I heard him talk about this the next day on Q&R. I think he handled it well.
I never did believe the non-partisan claims of the LWV.

Detroit may be a wasteland, but the surrounding areas are fertile ground for the Tea Party movement. Even here in Dearborn, individuals are standing up and voicing their opposition to the liberal ideology.
Henry David Thoreau is one of my favorite writers. Its time we start some civil disobedience of our own.

Ruling Class members continue to be slapped down by those they imagine to be their social inferiors. To me, the best part of events like this is to witness the looks on their elitist faces: pure indignance at the impertinence of the rabble who refuse to “know their place”.

Isn’t this technically a U.S. Government forum. I think it should start with the National Anthem, then a prayer (especially for our troops in harms way) and then then the pledge. Yes, I am part of the far right wing but I think all three of these would be appropriate.

The prayer or the National Anthem were simply the next logical step. We can be incremental as well.

Wonderful. Now that it's happened once I believe more and more will do it, sure hope so.
Just as in graduation ceremonies where they prohibit prayer, hope the kids interject ‘something’ right at the finish.
Like the Valedictorian who gave his speech and then gave a great big deliberate sneeze at the end -[it was planned] - and the whole class said “God Bless you”! Love it!

Thank goodness the people are finally turning on them. I get a kick out of reading dems comments about the conservatives getting nasty. Lol, stand up to them and it’s ‘nasty’.
Haven’t worked on the Seal and podium graphic yet.

That's why our country is so divided. Somehow our ideas and ideals are totally opposite. I read an article today saying the people in England are puzzled about our dislike for Obama! They said ‘we loved him two years ago, what happened?’
Guess they don't think there's anything wrong with his socialistic agenda because theirs is similar?
