Iran is to test its own homemade S-300 ground-to-air missiles, built in defiance of ally Russia which backed out of a deal to supply the device, a top Iranian military commander said on Wednesday.
"Very soon we will test long-range aerial defence missiles, including Iranian S-300s," Brigadier General Mohammad Hassan Mansourian told the state news agency IRNA.
In September, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree banning supplies of S-300 missiles and other arms to Iran.
Russia came under strong US and Israeli pressure not to go ahead with the sale of the weapons system which was seen as complicating any military action against Iran over its controversial nuclear programme.
Both Israel and the United States have refused to rule out resorting to military action to prevent Iran acquiring what they suspect is nuclear weapons capability, an ambition Tehran strongly denies.
Mansourian hit out at Russia for succumbing under the pressure of "American and Zionist regime."

Home made from Russian plans.
Unless they already have an S-300 missile and reverse engineer it.
probably North korean.
That’s basically what I meant.
Its difficult to know how much the Russkies showed them.
Soon to be in the hands of Hugo Chavez.
They are all playing footsie.
They already some from previous sales. We can assume that the Russians have showed them the in’s and out’s
Yes, but they may have shown them limited capabilities.
Lets hope so.
Even The commies have to keep these nuts on a short leash ;)
Can the S-300 defeat a 30 megaton air burst over Tehran?
I’m sure it’ll be a doozy:)
Iran must have like this big warehouse full of failed “one of” weapons.
As far as I know the US has nothing larger than a 100kt warhead...and I'm pretty darn sure the 50MT Titan was retired years ago.
We MIGHT have a few 1 MT device stashed somewhere, but I doubt it.
I don't think even the Russians have anything bigger than 10MT anymore, though they once had warheads as big as 100MT.
Actually they are improving. Still on the primitive side but improving. They are ahead of the North Koreans in missile development. The student has become the teacher.
They do not have bombs that big in any inventory.
I'd like to bet it all on both making neither win.
