Some of the problems with demanding federal experience are the following:
1. You limit yourself to about 600-700 people. That was not the intent of the Founding Fathers. Anyone can run.
2. Governors tend to be successful Presidents, retreads from the House of Representatives and Senators much less so. One of my worries in the last election was that we had two Senators running. Senators are theoriticians, Reps less so but both groups are isolated from their electorate by distance. Repubs now have a large numbe of governors to choose from and it gives the warm and fuzzies to see them line up for the Prez candidacy.
Congressionals theorize in DC, Governors are the guys in the aluminum boats helping to pull people out of the flood. Give me a Governor everytime.
One of many reasons that I like Sarah for Prez is that if she does become the CiC, I don’t think that there is anyone out there who is crazy enough to mess with her.
As opposed to Obama. Everyone messes with him. He’s an easy roll over.
You know, Sarah did more in two years as Gov. than a lot do in eight. She only resigned to save Alaska from mounting bills for complying with frivolous ethics complaints, brought on by the ankle biters, not to mention the time, and staff man hours taken away from actually running the state, and of course, saved her family from financial ruin because state law requires that she pay her legal costs associated from such complaints herself.
So it was a tactical retreat to regroup and as she says: reload. It also freed to her up to take the fight directly to the dems bent on destroying our country.
And she has done so magnificently!
Why supposedly good, critical thing conservatives in general, and FReepers in particular, can’t grasp that very simple logic, is beyond me.
“Why supposedly good, critical thing conservatives in general, and FReepers in particular, cant grasp that very simple logic, is beyond me.”
Because we need to beat Obama in 2012 and having only 2 years experience as governor of a state with one of the smallest populations in the country is a pretty tough sell to people.
Very nice post! You ARE intelligent!
