In final days as House Speaker, Pelosi blames Republican attack campaign for low approval numbers

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi blamed Republican-funded attacks for her low approval ratings Wednesday, moments after Democrats re-elected her to head the party as minority leader in next year’s Congress.

“How would your ratings be if $75 million were spent against you?” Pelosi said, after being asked about her low approval ratings.

An NBC/Wall Street Journal poll taken at the end of October found that only eight percent of independents have a favorable view of Pelosi and just 24 percent of the general population approves of her job as Speaker. In the waning days of the 111th Congress, 73 percent disprove Congress as a whole, according to the Real Clear Politics poll average.

When asked why she decided to run for another term in party leadership despite the low ratings, she replied, “Because I’m an effective leader. Because we got the job done on health care and Wall Street reform and consumer protections. The list goes on. Because they know that I’m the person that can attract the resources both intellectual and otherwise to take us to victory because I have done it before.”

I think it has to do with the present structure of the Democrat party, especially in the House. There are two main legs of their stool: the Congressional Black Caucus and Soros’ money. The first is absolutely invulnerable to the ravages of a shocking 60 seat turnover because their seats are absolutely secure.

They are secure because the Voting Rights Act actually mandates that their districts must be gerrymandered in order for them to have black representation.
Another big chunk of her support comes from California. It’s a big blue state and they want their Nancy in charge.
I miss the days when Gephardt was in charge. The Democrats will never have someone like him again.

I volunteered to hate you, Pelosi...didn’t take one dime of that $75 million for me to do it, either.

Pelosi has run a fantastic campaign for nearly four years.

I don’t see how anyone couldn’t be hatin’ on Pelosi, as well as she ran this campaign— she worked HARD to earn this much disapproval!

Yep, I do it for free! I’m thoughtful like that...

Under Pelosi's watch the national debt skyrocketed.

Under Pelosi's watch Congress adjourned without passing a budget for the first time since 1974.

Under Pelosi's watch the democrRAT party was handed its biggest losses in generations.

Under Pelosi's watch the number of women in congress has been reduced to numbers reminiscent of the 1970s.

By any measurable or reasonable standard, Nancy Pelosi, as a leader, has been a colossal failure.

She is great at one thing, though; she knows how to create jobs for Republican lawmakers. :-)

The stupid cow doesn’t realize that polls are taken with RATs, PUBs and INDs. That means even her own people are against her.

The party of smear has attacked once more. I “hope” that they never “change”. They will soon be history.

“How would your ratings be if $75 million were spent against you?” Pelosi said, after being asked about her low approval ratings.

I don’t know Nanzi, why don’t you ask George Bush, you
spent much more than that driving his approval rate down.

I say a railroad hand cart because if we are going to pay for the transportation, why give her a bus all to herself? Make her mode of transportation just big enough for her and that friggin mallet so nobody will have to be burdened with having to listen to that idiot ramble on for the ride.

The Democratic Party has moved away from democracy and has become a kind of mafia, a thuggery, or, as Rush Limbaugh puts it, a criminal enterprise

Yes, and it is, in great part, because Pelosi has the goods on so many of the Democrat criminals in DC that they bend to her demands. Imagine how many would be going the route of a government investigation if Nancy, who is vindictive and such a vicious retaliator (as she shows daily against anyone who opposes her agenda) was not getting her desires satisfied by her counterparts? They know this, and that is what brings them to their knees.

When she was first elected Speaker, and told America she was going to "clear the swamp" she meant...she was going to get the goods on people. Then she probably did so, but didn't clear the swamp. She is just holding what she knows for her own use. She probably has so much knowledge of their illegal, unethical, and even immoral behaviors stashed away that she can easily "convince" (blackmail) politicians to behave as she instructs - or else. No one so unlikeable, and unpopular would still be where she is if it were not for some devious methods being employed.

The Dems in the House ain't crazy...they are scared.

I still can’t believe they actually voted for her. Are they really that stupid?

Keep in mind that these are Democrats we're talking about here.
