true, but some perspective is needed. 11000 shares is neither a notable % of the company and even less of a notable % of soros. Also, it is quite possible soros has some small position in nearly every company traded, either directly or via funds.
when I first read the tout-line that soros owned part of one of these companies, I imagined it would be MILLIONS of shares or in any event a 13G event, not a silly 11k shares.

If you think about it, those 11k share could become quite valuable if said company got contracts to supply every airport, stadium, train station, bus terminal, school, public building.....etc.....via the Federal Government.
Also, he could be invested under different names or entities, this was just the stock we now know about, he sure made haste to distance himself.

Interesting the number 11,000 shows up —in Soros’ portfolio, the odd ‘fine’ they claim they will nail you with for leaving the security area...$11,000.00...It is usually more ‘American’ to think in multiples of 5.
It was fast, easy and certainly non intrusive, I guess the company that manufactured them did not support the one.
I'm guessing that was 2008, maybe 07.

The stock could go up 10000% and it would have made no notable difference in soro’s wealth. Also, once a technology like that is apparently around to stay for a while (e.g. invision), the co. would be likely to be bought out by larger conglomerate (GE bought Invision).
You don't have to check every single passenger. You profile and only check those that are suspicious. You can even check everyone and do it in under a minute per.
I've been through it. It works.
As I have noted elsewhere, I cannot believe soros even knew he owned a paltry 11k shares of something like this. He has multiple managers running his money, and for all I know the 11k shares was due to a specific dollar allocation, or basket, or who knows what.
I think there is a terrible lack of perspective on this issue, 11k shares of this to soros is something akin to the price of a decent dinner for one for most americans., at most.
