A man and woman are in custody for allegedly beating a 59-year female crossing guard and stealing her stop sign and whistle in front of nearly two dozen school children and adults Monday afternoon in the Florence-Firestone area.
Sheriff's investigators said the two suspects drove up to the intersection in a black Ford Expedition at about 2 p.m. and began to turn east on Firestone Boulevard from northbound Hooper Avenue. The crossing guard raised her stop sign higher in the air and told the suspects, "You have to stop, the children come first."

The crossing guard lady dared to tell some people who are "above the law" that they (gasp!) had to obey the law, that they had to be inconvenienced for a couple seconds and think of someone other than themselves. I live in LA, and believe me, this story does not surprise me one bit.
When I was a kid we did the school crossings, they called us the “safety patrol”. It was a great gig in the 5th grade. We got to be late to class in the mornings and got out 10 min. early in the afternoons.
A school crossing guard, a 59 year old woman, was attacked and beaten in the middle of a busy public street by two people in their 20s... ...and not ONE of the ‘adults’ standing around watching the attack attempted to help her? Instead, they VIDEO TAPED it?
If this had happened where I live it is quite likely the ‘suspects’ would not have survived the incident.
She “disrespected” them.
Don’t laugh; that will probably be their defense.

It was the people in this part of LA that obtained the license plate number, which led directly to the suspects quick arrest....
I hope these two enjoy their very long jail sentences.

People nearby in this area, likely mothers walking their kids to school, got the license plate and led to a very quick arrests....

It ought to be mandatory that this human debris be spayed and neutered before being released from jail. Had such a law been in effect 20+ years ago, there is a good chance they wouldn’t be here to cause grief now.

I did read the article. The only thing I did not do was watch the video link.
But, since you brought it up, and used it to accuse me of not reading the article, please tell me where the article states that the incident was not video-taped. Also, please explain how you know from the article that ALL of the the adults who stood around watching the attack were 'likely mothers walking their children to school'.
If you did you noted not one word in the article mentioned bystanders, or anyone video taping this incident.
