It really doesn’t matter whether or not. Brezenski (Clinton admin) and Steven Hadley (GWB admin) were discussing this on PBS last night, and the consensus is that it is foolish for diplomats to NOT gather as much info as they can. It’s not the shocker it’s made out to be.

That said, Assange is talking about the 'international covenants'? Sorry, the US enters into treaties with nations. Any 'agreement' with the UN is tantamount to a treaty with the Elks Club or the Knights of Columbus.
The very fact that this little tid-bit has been leaked to the media, is a sure indicator that the Russians are already under this guy's bed.
I expect him to disappear without a trace in the coming days. The Russians? They won't know a thing about it.
