obviously there is a technology cut off point....a tac-nuke would not constitute a RKBA issue.

where to draw the line? that is a rough one.

If you draw the line anywhere it will be moved to include boy scout pocket knives. The one with the fork and spoon.

I’ve said that small tactical nukes should be community owned, and I don’t mean local government at all. If there’s a bunch of people in a town that could afford one, and wouldn’t want to leave anything to any invaders, then they should be able to purchase a small nuke.

As far as I’m concerned, I want to be able to carry an M4A1 + M203 on the NYC subway. Small combat loadout with one in both chambers.

ASSAULT WEAPONS?

Aren’t weapons by definition used for assault?

Anything that could be used to Assault someone could be considered a weapon and any weapon could be used for an assault.

This could be a tree branch, rock, fist, broken bottle……

And it’s kind of like calling something a Light Lamp or Fork Utensil – it’s a redundant and meaningless phrase – and a phrase that means nothing can mean anything – sort of like the phrase ‘Hopenchange’

I’d agree with you, otherwise there would be no point in privateers.

So in one sense “assault weapon” is a redundant term?

"If you want to get into trouble at Free Republic, argue that given the natural law right to self defense, if you could afford it, it is acceptable for you to own a nuclear powered aircraft carrier battle group with air wing."

I've made that argument on Free Republic before and haven't got in any trouble. In fact, I've persuaded a few people to agree with me.
