Julian Assange should be awarded Nobel peace prize, suggests Russia

Russia has suggested that Julian Assange should be awarded the Nobel peace prize, in an unexpected show of support from Moscow for the jailed WikiLeaks founder.

In what appears to be a calculated dig at the US, the Kremlin urged non-governmental organisations to think seriously about "nominating Assange as a Nobel Prize laureate".

"Public and non-governmental organisations should think of how to help him," the source from inside president Dmitry Medvedev's office told Russian news agencies. Speaking in Brussels, where Medvedev was attending a Russia-EU summit yesterday , the source went on: "Maybe, nominate him as a Nobel Prize laureate."

In practical terms, wikileaks and their secret army of internet vandals represent nothing less than a global coup d’etat by the media-industrial complex and its adherents. The objective is to remove the power of governments entirely, at least free or accountable governments, and substitute the media culture as the final arbiter of policy.
Wikileaks’s supporters and apologists are almost entirely associated with the media and media values, including its political arm (the Democratic Party); and its enforcers, (the anarchists, NGOs, lefty agitators). Their targets are non-media power centers of any kind. They have not targeted totalitarian governments because media culture has a well-documented affinity for totalitarianism.

If the Russians do intend to award him the “Polonium Prize,” they will have to remember not to hide it in a condom.

Did Russia ever suggest that Ronald Reagan deserved a Nobel Peace Prize for ending Soviet Communism’s 70 year reign of death?

Didn’t think so.

Thanks
I might add that totalitarian governments are simply not cost-effective targets for the media forces: They are much less accountable for the revelations, and they are far more likely to exact a high price for them.

I didn’t know that Nobel commitee had a category for espionage. I guess the russians would be the best choice to offer up the nomination.
