Will President Obama be the first billion-dollar man? This Story He raised and spent $750 million in the 2008 campaign, and there is already speculation that the cash-collection operation for his 2012 reelection bid will crest the once-unimaginable sum of $1 billion raised. (That's a one and nine zeros. Nine!)

He'd better set aside $10 for a birth certificate.

It’s not a question of whether the Dems still like him. He has his paws on unlimited cash. Government cash. He has thrown it out by the TRILLIONS. So, if he only gets a 1% return on these gifts from some of these guys—not even all of them—he will easily top a billion.

Tens of billions to the UAW alone. Hundreds of billions to Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and the Boyz.

And let’s not forget all those Arab sheikhs who helped fund him the last time around. Not to mention Porky Pig and Donald Duck.

I’m not really worried about how much money he uses. Sometimes it just doesn’t matter. How much money would it take to get Hitler elected? Answer: All the money in the world would not be enough.

Same for Urkel.

This article reads like they are congratulating him and cheering him on for attaining this level of fund raising - I thought we had to remove the obscene amounts of money from politics? Sorry - I cant imagine such a positive article being spun when Sarah decides to opt out and start raising money for her run.

Obama isn’t going to get $1 billion for 2012. He was about as much chance of being a player in 2012 as Vince Foster.

He’ll raise a lot of money, but it ain’t going to be near as easy as his first go around.

Why not? Soros still has that much in petty cash, and the trick about not verifying credentials on credit cards wasn't ever criminalized.

They can do it again, using the same tricks as last time. It should be even easier this time, as they already have the list of fake names to use. Setting up boiler room operations in the Gaza Strip to pump in money to the campaign could be written off as a humanitarian jobs program. Win-win for Soros.

Sadly true but the question is are the commiecrats dumb enough to let Obama go unchallenged? Soro’s and all of Obama’s campaign slush fund monies may go to Bloomberg or Feingold or some other commiecrat.

It could be a hundred billion and he still won’t get re-elected. Hopefully by 2012 he’ll be in Leavenworth where he belongs.

Who’s giving this schmuck money?! “

Millions of dollars came from out of the country in his 2008 election bid.

Money coming from GAZA was reported as ‘Ga- making the required election paperwork look like the money came from Georgia, USA.

I sure wish the sources of monies from his 2008 campaign would be scrutinized far more closely.

Pepsodent once spent a huge wad on advertising in S. Korea. But sales there went from bad to worse. They couldn’t understand it. What was wrong with the phrase that had worked so well in the US: “You’ll wonder where the yellow went.”

Spend away, Obama. Get foreign donations, Soros cash, extort money from union employees. It’s OK. Twenty years later, we’ll wonder where the yellow-striped skunk went.

No amount of money can save Obama—I doubt he will even run—something will stop him—a scandal, a failure of monumental scale, a character flaw. He should be forced to resign for the good of the nation and what’s left of the Democrat Party.

“Who’s giving this schmuck money?! All of the Dims I know want him gone, they certainly aren’t donating to his re-election fund.”

Indeed. WaPo is whistling in the graveyard if they think Obama could raise a billion. The only folks left who want him back are the ones he euphemistically refers to as his “base”, and they don’t have enough welfare money left over from buying Colt Forty-Fives to donate pennies to UNICEF, much less for campaign contributions to The One.

The big money folks that bank-rolled Obama the first time are going to be putting their bucks on someone else the second time. In fact, they’re going to be telling Obama that very thing, trying to get him to abdicate a second term. The big money folks will also make sure the MSM media is joins the not-Obama movement when the time comes. Obama’s going to be too busy trying to crawl out from under the bus to raise campaign money.
