Reid: Opponents Should Stop Trying To Give Power Back To Insurance Companies And Work With Us To Make Reform Work For Middle-Class Families

Washington, D.C. — Nevada Senator Harry Reid released the following statement today regarding a recent federal district court ruling about health care reform law:

“This lawsuit is the latest effort to roll back rules that bar insurance companies from abusive practices like denying health insurance to people with pre-existing conditions. Fourteen federal district judges have rejected lawsuits like this one, making this ruling an outlier.

“Opponents of reform have tried everything to protect insurance companies and block common-sense protections for middle-class families in Nevada and across the nation. That fight is over. It’s time to move on, and work together to implement reform in a way that puts families in control of their health care, and lowers costs for both families and small businesses.”

Herr Reid wants all the power for himself and his Liberal RAT cronies. Power to decide who lives and who dies via their Death Panels. Behold power-hungry political hacks.

I don’t want to give power to insurance companies but, given the choice, that’s better than giving it to the FedGov and crooks like Harry Reid.

Stop trying to give power back to insurance companies... and let the government have more power instead? I don’t think so.

They make one corrupt vote in the middle of the night and want the debate to be over forever. Fat chance.

It disgusts me that dims have successfully brainwashed so many people into believing that not covering pre-existing conditions is an “abusive” practice.

Do we force car insurance to cover pre-existing damage? Are people allowed to purchase and collect life insurance on the already dead?

Obamacare is not and never has been insurance reform. It’s just an installment plan to create a national healthcare system.

The insurance companies lobbied FOR Obamacare.

Rates have gone up already and will continue. They are making more money.

.
Can we assume that Reid intends to shut down the FDA and big pharma?

Otherwise, the same old goons will still be in control.

Using Reid’s “logic” you can justify any expansion of government, and any loss of liberty or property rights, by saying hated group X doesn’t like it. They could raise tax rates to 99% across the board and justify it by saying the hated rich opposed it.

And progressive idiots would be cheering them on.

No insurance company ever forced me to buy their products or penalized me for not doing so. That is because they have no power over my economic decisions, whereas the government now claims that right as a condition of my citizenship. I will not comply with that demand, ever.

work together to implement reform in a way that puts families in control of their health care

If your family is named Berwick, Sebelius or Obama, maybe. Otherwise forget it.

Fire insurance companies should have to sell you fire or homeowners insurance when your house is on fire. Or has already been burned to the ground.

Casualty insurance companies should have to sell you liability insurance after you have ran already over someone and injured or killed them.

Car insurers should have to sell you a policy to fix your vehicle after it has already been damaged by accident. Or, what the heck, after you have intentionally wrecked it.

Disability insurance companies should have to sell you a policy that pays for your lost income after you are already been disabled.

All lottery tickets should be winners.

Reid is an idiot who has no clue how the free market works and I doubt he cares.
