It’ll be titled “Damage Control”.

I wonder if McCrystal is being made to feel unwelcome when he’s in an Officer’s Club? Just sayin.............

Please stop using the word “Obama” and ‘realist’ in the same sentence. It’s beyond painful. Very bad comedy. Every time you do that, a puppy dies.

Obama wanted to placate leftists in his party and his own ego and so wanted a *SMALLER* Afghan plan. It is nowhere NEAR what Powell or the Army chiefs wanted.

“The real problems between Obama and McChrystal had nothing to do with Obama and McChrystal. “
Hilarious. Obama is a LEFTIST and our national security is not even his #1 issue. Stop pretending it is, and you end up with absurdities like the above.

reality check - Obama just isn’t INTO the MILITARY:
Their first one-on-one meeting took place in the Oval Office four months later, after McChrystal got the Afghanistan job, and it didn’t go much better. “It was a 10-minute photo op,” says an adviser to McChrystal. “Obama clearly didn’t know anything about him, who he was. Here’s the guy who’s going to run his fucking war, but he didn’t seem very engaged. The Boss was pretty disappointed.”

A buddy of mine just back from Afghanistan said McChrystal was such a morale killer.
It seemed like he would be on tv every day apologizing to the Afghan people for collateral damage caused by US troop activities.
OTOH-They really respect General Petraeus.

‘He voted for Obama not because Obama was a democrat, but because Obama is a realist’

Nope. Powell voted for Obama because he is (half)Black. I was appalled at the number of ‘Conservative’ Blacks who came out in support of Obama. I told my friend who is a Conservative Black woman, any Conservative Black who votes for Obama is putting their race above their ideology. Simple as that.

I actually read the Rolling Stone article. It was the first time in over a decade I even gave RS a 2nd look. I read it at the local library, I wasn’t about to go buy that skiffy rag.

If McChrystal is a liberal, he is doing a big re-evaluation of his beliefs. There is no bigger liberal than Zero and McChrystal’s dealings with him and his admin was nothing but a big series of disappointments and disillusions. I’d probably go jump off a bridge if I worked for that purple-lipped douchebag for any length of time.

Oh I agree there was a Command error in judgement— trusting anybody from Rolling Stone.

I'm betting there's a method to that madness: he couldn't bring himself to slink away with Zero's little wuss minions jeering his departure, so he decided to go down swinging.

I agree. If I vote for the white guy because he’s white, I’m the scum of the earth (as it should be). But voting for the black guy because he’s black gets a pass? Looks like a whole lot of people forgot what MLK’s message was (the part about people being judged on character, not color; lots of people celebrating the MLK holiday dreaming of the day big whitey is living under apartheid).

‘Obama clearly didn’t know anything about him, who he was ... he didn’t seem very engaged,’ the adviser added.”

A Marine Corps general meets the slovenly Ubama - - it must have been like an alien encounter, beings from opposite worlds. It also sounds like Ubama was cruising on autopilot from his prescription meds.

...any Conservative Black who votes for Obama is putting their race above their ideology principles.

They are shameless hypocrites. Simple as that.

When I first heard that McChrystal voted for 0bama, I searched the internet to confirm it, but it all seemed to be 2nd or 3rd hand information. Have you ever seen anywhere where McChrystal himself says he voted for 0bama? Sometimes I think the whole thing was fabricated to give 0bama his “Truman firing McArthur” moment.

Damn good question.
I searched the web when I first heard about this "voted for Ubama" rumor and couldn't confirm it then. Hopefully, McChrystal will address this rumor in his book.

Don't be too harsh. We have all been, or will be, shameless hypocrites at some point in our lives.

It's the fate of all humans. Remember Jesus talking to Peter at the Last Supper.

"My brother remembers him from ‘Nam."

Maybe your brother met him after 'Nam. McChrystal wasn't commissioned until '76.

My brother remembers him from ‘Nam.

McChrystal graduated from the academy and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in 1976.
