For Hawaii governor, discrediting anti-Obama 'birthers' is a top priority
Los Angeles Times ^ | Dec 24, 2010 | Michael A. Memoli,

Neil Abercrombie knew Barack Obama's parents when the future president was born here in 1961, and he has been aggravated by the so-called birther movement, which alleges Obama was not born in the United States and thus should be expelled from office.

Now Abercrombie has an office of his own - he became governor of Hawaii on Dec. 6. - and he intends to do something about it.

What, exactly, is unclear. But in an interview this week at the state Capitol, he left little doubt that torpedoing the conspiracy theorists was a priority.

Last year, he sponsored a congressional resolution honoring the 50th anniversary of Hawaiian statehood, which included language stating, "Whereas the 44th president of the United States, Barack Obama, was born in Hawaii."

I am posting this in news, because it appeared in the LA Times, and the governor of Hawaii said it in an interview right at the state Capitol.

He should worry more about the unemployment in his state...

The reliance on obstruction and decreditation
of inquirers heralds that
Obama’s claim is rather weak
and should dictate impeachment and conviction.

We should just settle our debt with China by giving them Hawaii.

Like the rest of the USA, Hawaii has many problems with a lack of jobs and an oppressive regulatory regime that hampers job growth. But of course, he can waste his time as governor dealing with conspiracy theorists, at the expense of trying to do something to solve the problems that plague Hawaii.

Well, he could get rid of the “birther” controversy once and for all by permitting public viewing of the original long-form Certificate of Birth for President Obama. (^_^)

How about instead of stomping your feet and making laws about it, just show the damn thing and get it over with.

Just because you pass a resolution that says it is so, does not make it so.

And the best way to do that is to show us the long form birth certificate, if it exists. Would make this whole "bone of contention" disappear. ;-)

Hey Guv, what is your opinion on the notion that the state of Hawaii was involved in a scheme to steal millions in federal dollars by claiming foreign born children as our own back in the 60’s -70’s?

“But in an interview this week at the state Capitol, he left little doubt that torpedoing the conspiracy theorists was a priority.”

Yeah, that’ll do it.

If the objective were to “prove” that Obama was born in Hawaii; there are at least two ways to accomplish that: show the records already on file; or, manufacture the required records. If anyone is in a position to cause a state's critical records to be corrupted, it would be the Governor. If that were to occur, that would involve a conspiracy.

Up to this point, no “conspiracy” has been postulated — just the suggestion that Obama was hiding something. We have just seen the “birth” of a conspiracy theory.
