The Winner of This Year's 'Best Climate Predictor' Award (Clue: It Wasn't Al Gore!)
American Thinker ^ | Howard Richman & Raymond Richman

Given the terrible beginning of winter in the U.S. and Europe this year, we ought to reward those who accurately predicted it and condemn those who got it wrong. It's time to choose the winner of this year's "Best Climate Predictor" award. There are five nominees:

former Vice President Al Gore, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, the IPCC of the United Nations, and British astrophysicist Piers Corbyn. (You say you've never heard of him? You won't be surprised, once you've read his predictions, that the media have ignored him.) Gore, Schwarzenegger, and the IPCC made their mark through their dramatic predictions of catastrophic sea level rise due to increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere causing global warming. Gore once predicted that sea levels would rise by twenty feet over the century. Last year, Schwarzenegger unveiled a map showing world sea levels rising by 1.5 meters over the next century. In 2001, the IPCC predicted that sea level would rise by three feet over the next century. Their past predictions and the accurate satellite measurements are shown in the chart below:

Gore was an excellent weather predictor...

If he was to appear at a global warming conference...cold weather was certain.

I saw Corbyn on Fox News this morning. He has a website that debunks the CO2 baloney.

Unless Algore's now so huge you're counting him twice, the "American Thinker" can't count.

The thing that really bugs people like Al Gore and Arnold Schwarzenegger is the fact that the CAN’T control the climate. These fools actually believe that if they can just get enough people to change out their light bulbs and drive around in tiny cars that fold up like empty beer cans when they’re hit that THEY, rich important elitists that they are, can effect the climate of the entire planet Earth!

Nightline did a complete hit peice on this guy last week.

They painted Corbyn as a kook, and gave the IPCC representative most of the airtime to blather on about “decided” science.

The most outrageous peart of the report came when ABC tied in some obscure white supremacist web site that impugned the IPCC.

The message was clear - GW deniers are kooks, crazies and haters.

"Gore once predicted that sea levels would rise by twenty feet over the century."

gee. I'm in Sacramento at 22ft above sea level. And, 85 miles from the coast.

If this prediction were to come true the entire central valley of CA would be an enormous inland sea within 200yrs.

Come to think of it, it WAS that once...about 10million years ago.

The odd thing is the Farmers’ Almanac actually uses a less refined version of Corbyn’s method: they consider sunspot number in making their predictions.

Why is that odd. They both get it right regularly, unlike the U.K. Met Office with its 40 million pound super computer.

What do Al and Arnold have in common?

Neither is a scientist but each plays one on TV.
