obviously a thinly-veiled “hit-piece” against Sarah ... “too bad” the MSM hasn’t figured-out that “we” don’t listen to anything they write (LOL)

There’s a lot of work for us to do or else they will get their way and liberty will be poorer for it. We need to be starting now or else we will find ourselves with a milquetoast candidate.

“This is not only notable by itself, but it has sparked similar criticism from other conservative sources. It’s interesting that she’s drawing this kind of fire from my fellow righties. “

They are not using the term ‘Republicans’, they are saying ‘Conservatives’ and ‘righties’.

This is an effort to assert that people such as Bush were conservative, therefore the conservatives don’t like Palin. The RINO GOP entrenched power structure is so threatened by Palin it’s not even funny.

Maybe compared to Obama Bush is conservative, but so is almost everyone to the right of Chairman Mao.

We need to listen because they intend this to be the rallying drum beat for the next year in an attempt to bully Sarah into not running. They want a candidate they can control more than anything else. They want someone who will indulge the idiocies of Washington and the sentiments of liberals while allowing endless spending and govt growth.

All of these attacks on Palin are coming from the usual sources. The MSM is so predictable.

This seems to me to be a misstep. Taking on Michelle was a rotten idea.

It is like how they use ‘GOP strategist’ for people who haven’t supported the GOP platform in years if they ever did.
It’s the wink and nod crowd. They want to make the average conservative and conservative independent doubt themselves and their own intuitions and instead accept someone like Romney who has at one time or another supported everything from Cap and Trade, Abortion, Gay activism, and Govt run Healthcare. What needs to happen is a concerted attack on the establishment candidates reminding people of their critical problems.

I think the Wall Street Journal’s “conservatism” extends only as far as investor’s pocketbooks.

Taking on Michelle was a rotten idea.

Why do you think this?

You might be right, but I don't think I'm the only one who is getting increasingly tired of having leftists try to make all of my decisions for me.

Do you think most Americans are sympathetic to Michelle Obama and her "anti-obesity" campaign?

She made a comment about Michelle’s stupid anti-obesity program. Most kids are fat because their parents are idiots and choose a passive role in the lives of their children. How is it a misstep? I’ll tell you what a misstep is and that is supporting the template for govt run health care plan implemented in Massachusetts. Last time I checked Sarah hasn’t hired illegal aliens to mow her lawn and doesn’t wear special underwear under his suit to ward off demons. Why do we allow the sentiments of shallow empty headed media to color our own thoughts? I suppose some conservatives welcome being brainwashed and controlled.

That is unfortunate because liberal social values leads to vastly increased social costs which leads directly to bigger and bigger govt.

Firstly The Wall Street Journal is not really a Conservative paper, outside of the Editorial page, and the EP is really not that Conservative either.

Is The Weekly Standard really all that Conservative, after all they employ Steve Hayes who is a Romney guy.

Speaking of Charles K and Steve Hayes, first order of business when I take over at Fox News is to get rid of both those clowns.

Charles Krauthammer helped get Obama elected! How many times did CNN/MSNBC etc say that ....”even Charles K is on our side” as they read his drivel on the air. He will be helping Obama in his re election as well.

Sarah Palin is the best thing since sliced bread!!!!

Then you better vote against Precious. She wants to hand 2/3 of the world’s surface over to the commies at the UN.

Unfortunately we understand that but a lot of them do not.

On the other hand, the National SOCIALIST Party (NAZI)of Germany had a lot of support from corporate industrialists who thought they could “control” Hitler.

Some people don’t learn from history.

This column from E. Thomas McClanahan is just another transparent attempt to discredit Sarah Palin as a viable candidate for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination and, should she win the nomination, to undermine her credibility with the average, often 'independent' voter. I don't know anything about the author's political leanings but I would have to guess that he voted for Obama. The game here is to (a) pretend that Sarah Palin is a marginal, divisive political figure (like Obama?) and so, unelectable and to employ the theme that 'even' Republicans don't like her (boo, hiss). Its all a pack of lies. Sarah Palin is, indeed, unpopular with liberal Democrats and 'moderate' (RINO) 'Republicans' and a good many otherwise apathetic Americans are reading/hearing/seeing negative stories about her in the MSM and that is skewing their perceptions of her and tilting some 'popularity' polls against her. She can and will overcome this. Her appearances on Fox News help and her benign comments about Michelle Obama's battle against foods she doesn't think we should eat was relatively innocuous and part of Palin's appeal as an 'authentic' politician, not the plastic, evasive, poll-tested, slick politician that we get with, say, a Hillary Clinton or a Mitt Romney.

I believe that, contrary to the MSM and RINO politicians that fear real change in Washington a Palin presidency would bring, are going to do everything in their power to undermine this woman and convince as many Republicans as possible that 'she can't win'...'too many negatives'...'baggage', etc. Don't fall for it. The MSM, RINOs and the Obama-worshipers all fear Sarah Palin and the kind of gutsy, no-BS conservatism she represents. Otherwise, why bother attacking her almost non-stop? Their attention to Palin - to the point of obsession - belies their real concerns that she has a very good chance to win the 2012 GOP presidential nomination as well as the presidency. If they didn't, they wouldn't waste their time on Palin. None of the other Republicans often mentioned as possible candidates for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination ever receive more than token acknowledgment (and quick dismissal) from the leftist media, but Sarah Palin is in their heads, 24/7. When they keep claiming that 'even Republicans' (read: RINOs) dislike her, know that Sarah Palin is a threat to the left and the 'moderate' right that loves being in the minority but on the Washington gravy train, which will end with a Palin presidency. I can't wait.

No question Palin will have my vote if she runs and wins the nomination, but I question her ability to get beyond her catchphrase “common sense” answers to a lot of questions. There needs to be much more. Haven’t seen it yet and if every answer is sprinkled with common sense that is not explained, she will lose.

I think you are right on to this issue. She also has to ratchet down that high pitch that she frequently uses.

A little off direct subject, but relevant--just had a call from Repub Senatorial Cmmtee 30 minutes ago. Told him I was not donating to any Repub Committees again until the elite Repubs realize this is not your usual election cycle but a battle for our nation. Mentioned how they (Repub Senatorial) helped elect Murkowski in AK. Told him I did not give money to anyone last cycle but Sarah, Michelle, Sharon Angle and my own Senator--Jeff Sessions and his troops almost singlehandedly stopped Bush's Amnesty, and he and Shelby vote conservative.

Added that Michelle and Sarah had more balls than any of the Senators in DC.
