But Joe lost the election. He didn't do himself, Alaska or the Tea Party movement any good by hanging on past the determination the gap was 10,000 votes!
There is a time to retire gracefully and live to fight another day. He may have poisoned the well!
Didn’t the LAW state that any write in candidates name had to be spelled correctly?
Shame on Joe for wanting the law to be upheld. /sarc
Yes, he was vastly preferable to Lisa, but Joe was not a very good candidate. Miller lost to a write-in candidate. If you lose to a write-in, even one as well known as Murkowski, there is something seriously wrong with you - at least in the eyes of the voters.
People gotta face the fact that many high profile Tea Party senate candidates fared very poorly. The lesson is, run better candidates. COD, Angle, Buck, Miller - all lost extremely winnable races where better nominees may well have meant Republican victories.
At some point early on Joe should have conceded and run against Begich when the time comes. He lost a lot of credibility and good will by persisting when it was obvious that he’d lost.
