HONOLULU--President Barack Obama won't be returning to Washington until Jan. 4, extending his Hawaiian vacation by about a day after it was delayed by a busy lame-duck Congressional session.
"After the extended lame duck and five-day delay of his trip here, he's just trying to squeeze in more time with his family before returning to Washington," Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton said Wednesday.
Mr. Obama is vacationing in Kailua, Hawaii, and has spent much of his free time working out, playing basketball, snorkeling, spending time with family, and swinging golf clubs.

How many of us get to say, “You know, I really like this whole vacation-thing. I’m just going to take another day.”
His boss is “We the People.”

lOL! I had the same thought - like he's visiting them in Hawaii. Reminds me when he was at a fund raising event in MA - his voters spending thousands of dollar a plate and he gives a 20 min speech and says he has to go home to tuck the girls in and poop the scoop. And leaving clinton at the podium w/reports to go to a Christmas party. What an 'in your face - I could give a flip' attitude.

Hawaii regained its independence? I missed that news story. Does the flag go back to 49 stars?

But Michael Barone thinks everyone loves Obama because he has such a delightful personality.
