I remember being a bachelor and packing the back of my truck with laundry, heading on down to the laundry mat. The advantage is that you can do 14 loads of laundry at one time... which was my personal record.

The ultimate laundry story is the college kid who mails dirty home to mom. Have known 2 or 3.

We live in the boonies in the south, and we’ve had a stacked washer/dryer unit for almost 25 yrs., and bigger units before that. I can remember hauling our laundry to the laundry mat as well; but glad I haven’t had to do much of that in a long time. If that fails, we have a river with big rocks to beat the clothes on down below our house.

My son does the same thing, except he brings them to my front loader.
