The problems inherent in Social Security and in Medicare has been known for decades, yet nobody did anything about them. BUMP, Peter Schiff put it very similarly. Unpaid-for Prescription drugs for seniors is another great example(and helped Bush win Florida in 2004), How's that fit into ‘the promise’to seniors??? How about a promise to taxpayers and bondholders ?

I will say that if Republicans let Obama guide them into a compromise cutting SS to pay for Obama’s spending (which he protects) then they will get what they deserve, the door! Cutting these entitlements better be lower on the list.
