Unfortunately, snipers and anti-personel mines were never even considered. I think the fence remains a good idea but it certainly can’t work without concurrent changes in border policies and procedures.

Razor wire would slack them off a bit. but a fence with no patrols is no good.

Have opinions, or don’t have opinions. But for heaven’s sake, don’t have opinions that waver in the slightest wind. What the hell are opinions like that worth to anyone?

If it's stupid, it's stupid. The wall was always a stupid idea, and I have been saying so long before your lamentable debut on this site.

These girls merely demonstrated the point.

A little barbed wire might help. But that would be racist, probably. Or it might hurt a bird, and PETA would get angry.

The answer, according to these chicks, is to start spending US taxpayers money in Mexico. Good Grief.....

They come here because Americans give them money to come here. Take care of that, and you don't have to worry about enacting East Germany's border policies.

The Great Wall of China, Maginot Line, Siegfried Line and Atlantic Wall all worked so well, didn’t they?

Have them try getting across the areas with a real fence.

That is why the Secure Fence Act mandated double fencing, of the type very hard to climb, in addition to a high speed border patrol road in between AND cameras and sensors.

Like I said, “I think the fence remains a good idea but it certainly can’t work without concurrent changes in border policies and procedures.” But, having said that, I think the current state affairs warrants more of an east german approach. This is not a matter of a few thousand individuals, it’s a matter of millions of individuals which makes it an invasion. That warrants AP mines and snipers. America will never go for that though so get used to pressing 1 for English.

Simple solution - manufacture the poles with razor-sharp shards protruding out at an angle.

Voila - mexican shish kabobs!

Big surprise, there. “The damn wall” was always a really stupid idea.

No, it's a good idea but it needs the proper armament on the US side. I recommend a 50 cal every 200 yards, regular armed patrols, and the occasional helicopter strafe. Plus nearby forces that can amass in case of a large-scale break-in.

The Berlin Wall wouldn’t have worked, unless it was manned by soldiers who were willing to shoot to kill, and having landmines placed in ‘no man’s land.’
