The Islamic militant group Hezbollah and its allies plan to resign from the Lebanese Cabinet on Wednesday, a move that would likely topple the government over tensions stemming from the international investigation into the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, officials said.

Health Minister Mohammed Jawad Khalifeh told Hezbollah's Al-Manar TV that ministers were planning to resign in the afternoon unless Western-backed Prime Minister Saad Hariri - the son of the slain leader - agrees to their demand to convene an urgent Cabinet meeting over the tribunal crisis.

From the JPost.....

Obama told the king [Abdulla of Saudi Arabia] that considering "their shared commitment to Lebanon's welfare and to supporting Prime Minister Hariri, he looks forward to continuing to work together with Saudi Arabia and other partners to support Lebanon's sovereignty, independence and stability," a White House statement said.

He generally issues a statement of great support right before he throws someone under the bus.

Ponder the fact they were ever allowed to be part of it to begin with.

“Any chance this doesn’t end in more violence?”

What? And violate tradition?!

Tradition! Tradition!

Here in our little town of ibn Kulub we all have our little disputes. For example, Mahmud here once sold an AK47 to Bassam over there that only had a range of 20 meters.

Tradition!

It was 20 meters! It was 40! It was 20! It was 40!

You’re 40 meters away, so let me see if it works on you!

I’m 20 meters! 40! 20! 40! Ratatatat! OK. Now somebody measure it.

It’s 40 meters.

Tradition! Tradition! Without our tradition, we’d be as shaky as...as a sniper on a rooftop!

Who must struggle hard to discipline the children, honor kill his daughters, teach his sons to be cruel, get dough from UNRWA. And who has the right as master of the house to have the final word at home?

The papa! The papa! Tradition!

Who must hold her girl down so she gets circumcised, and without a male chaperon must never go outside?

The mama! The mama! Tradition!

What is interesting to me is that they are willing to
do this over what is a UN investigation.

I think they doth protest too much.
