It more and more seems that Loughner acted against Giffords for personal reasons and politics were not the driver.

Based on his behavior since Saturday, it seems reasonable to assume that he did this for attention and status. The whole world is talking about this guy and he loves it.

I'm in total agreement with you. I have to say though, i think there's an eco-freak component to this that might be getting overlooked. I've been wrong before but....

One of my in-laws, a guy who espouses to be conservative, gave me a free copy of Zeitgeist, the movie.

It started off with some inane gibberish philosophy which sounded profound, but it was almost impossible to tell what they were trying to communicate.

Then it veered into an anti-religion diatribe complete with voice from George Carlin, the militant atheist. For example, the movie claimed that many religions equate the Sun and the Son of God. As if the words “son” and “sun” sounded the same in ancient Egyptian! The level of stupidity and ignorance that backed such a claim left me LMAO!

Then they launched into 9/11 Truther BS.

In summary, I began to question the intelligence of the guy who gave me the movie. I watched it to the end just to make a list of the nonsensical claims and themes.

Only the mentally ill could take such a movie seriously.

Thanks for this link. To hear the leftist media report, one would think the Zeitgeist movement is some paleoconservative, bring back the gold standard, anti Federal Reserve, Ron Paul supporting movement. In reality it is just repackaged Marxism.

I still really wonder about the parents. They also had this evil alter in their backyard. Fox mentioned the police had been called to their house several times apparently because of something to do with them. The neighbors have also said some strange things about the family. The only thing released about them is the written statement. Most of the time the family of a killer who truly feels bad makes a public statement to the cameras. Who knows that the written statement was really made by them and not just put out by the lawyers as positive PR. They may be just fine but nothing so far has convinced me and there are questions.

So much for the "we can't know his motive" motif. It's all too similar to the responses of the 9-11 attacks when every talking head or pundit claimed that nobody could have predicted that aircraft would have been flown into the Twin Towers. Yet as many of us later learned there were enough red flags (Arabic men learning to fly) and previous incidents (the Algerians who wanted to crash into the Eiffel Tower...1994 and WTC/I happened in 1993) to raise concerns. Besides, there was no need to "predict" what might happen as the possibility had existed for over a decade...

We can know his reasons and motivations and unless he is killed before he goes to trial all we, the American public, have to do is wait for the trial testimony to come out. (of course, that is based on getting a prosecuting attorney who is willing to get to the bottom of it all and not just brush it under the rug)

The media, pundits and government mouthpieces ought to remember that Americans know the difference between urine and rainfall running down their backs.
