Who’s Herman Cain. Ralph Nader has more name recognition than this guy.

I think some of these guys are announcing to make a little money on the donations side.

I know what you are saying. I worry about that demographic for any conservative running, honestly.

Facebook connecting will help some of that, I think. Plus, Herman has has a lot of college kids calling into his show and on his FB, that surprised me. My high schooler and his friends are all buzzing about Cain, and they will vote, so I think he is making some inroads in surprising areas.

I hope and pray that Americans have learned their lessons that electing a vacuous celebrity (with no substance) is a recipe for disaster.

The most sensible approach to this is don’t listen to any talk radio hosts when forming your opinion about Herman Cain.

Find out the truth about him.

Good advice...there’s a ton of information about and by Cain, shouldn’t be hard for folks to do their own homework.

I like him, and would vote for him in a NY minute. I've been following him for about the last 6 months. I am impressed with his quick on his feet thinking and like his values and hard work. He is very qualified in my humble opinion. He has several videos you can watch if you want to get a feel of his stage presence.

Is Cain a RINO?

Some nervous conservatives seem to want to grab any old straw that pops up out of nowhere.

I wager if you walk down the street not ONE person in the next hundred you meet will know who the heck he is.

I didn't know myself till now and I've been a voracious freeper for only 12 years.

He may be another Ronald Reagan, but as far as I'm concerned these unknowns just muddy the waters, gobble up energy and donations that should go to a prime conservative candidate, and they eventually dilute the vote.

Give me a break....puleeeze.

No, Cain is not a RINO. DannyTN thought he is a Morman, but he is not.

He is the former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza and helped to turn it around. He also helped defeat HillaryCare back in the 90’s.

Check him out!

Riiiight.

Kind of like the unknown Gov. Palin who became famous in a week? Herman has that kind of wow factor.

But you keep on believing that, LOL!

Is Cain a RINO?

Just the opposite, he is to the right of most FReepers (in a good way).

I’m not very familiar with him so I look forward to Mr. Cain joining the conversation held among Republicans wishing to succeed Obama.

Now that's an excellent point. Who knew of Sarah Palin before she was tapped as the VP nominee? She really became very well known in a short time.

I have listened to Herman Cain guest host a few times (forget on which show) and I was impressed. I think his business background will sway a lot of voters-- he has a real history of getting things done and an impressive record of success. I believe that impression of someone who has gotten things done in the private sector was what propelled a lot of Mitt Romney buzz, so Herman Cain taps into that same theme, and his conservative principles are much better than Romney's. I read up a bit more on him online, and the only thing that concerned me was his health (apparently he has beaten cancer). I am sure the media will make an issue of that. I'm really excited that he is getting into the race. It's good to see a candidate that I can be enthusiastic about. And if the guy can run organizations and turn around businesses the way he has done, you've got to figure he has what it takes to run an effective campaign.
