McCain lauds Obama as a 'patriot' (*BARF*)
The Hill ^ | 1/14/11 | Jordan Fabian

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) — one of President Obama's most strident critics — praised the president's speech in Arizona at a memorial service for the victims of the Tucson shooting spree.

The Arizona senator and Obama's 2008 opponent penned an op-ed in the Washington Post, saying Obama "comforted and inspired the country" by calling for greater civility in the nation's political discourse.

"I disagree with many of the president's policies, but I believe he is a patriot sincerely intent on using his time in office to advance our country's cause," McCain wrote. "I reject accusations that his policies and beliefs make him unworthy to lead America or opposed to its founding ideals. And I reject accusations that Americans who vigorously oppose his policies are less intelligent, compassionate or just than those who support them."

I’ve been hearing the same drivel on Fox News from people as diverse in opinion as Juan Williams and Rick Santorum. The only person I’ve heard call it crap was Laura Ingrahm. I don’t know what they put in the water at FNC.

Well I do think he was more surprised than anyone that he was the nominee:)though I think he did want to be president. It seemed that once Obama was named, he was resigned to losing and had to helplessly watch as his hopes were washed away by the relentless deluge of an historic election to which he was only an observer with zero to stop the inevitable.

Some people don’t just know when to keep their stinking pie holes shut.

Ubama is a a Third World socialist. His father was an African Marxist and his mother a leftist slut. Nothing in his background or experience - far left community organizer, 20 years with the hate-monger Pastor Wright, friendship with terrorist Bill Ayers, shady real estate deal with Syrian (now jailed) swindler Tony Rezko, associations with Louis Farrakhan and black militants - makes him a real American in terms of values or world view. He spent 150 days in the U.S. Senate, about 120 of them campaigning. He spent a few years in the Illinois state legislature voting “present.”

Ubama has a barely concealed hatred for traditional America and its values. Ubama is a communist piece of sh!+, and if McCain is with him, then he is against normal America. This latest diarrhetic spew from the mouth of McCain once again points up what a crappy choice America had in 2008.

America cannot afford to make that mistake again.

Exactly. If such a thing is to be said at all it should only be the smile as you twist the knife with.....

“sincerely intent on using his time in office to advance our country's cause” BUT he is misguided and his policies are destructive to those aims.

Just as when he said “America has nothing to fear from an 0bama Presidency” and you could hear the entire crowd exhale at the same time.

What should have been said was......

“Nothing to fear from 0bama, as a person he is affable and professorial; but America has EVERYTHING to fear from the implementation of such misguided policy and the placing into positions of power in the Executive and Judiciary, the rabid ideologues his entire career has been associated with.”

The fact that McCain is still in office is testimony of how gullible people can be. Or is that stupid?

I'm certain the voters who supported him will be very happy when he accepts a Cabinet Position in the Obama Administration. That appears where this is heading.

I’m inclined to agree. He’s gone a little overboard, but politically speaking, it’s clear what he’s trying to do.

Of course Obama is great on the campaign trail...what we saw was a candidate running for in 2012 it had nothing to do with being a patriot.
