Legislators pairing off for bipartisan seating at Obama speech

Washington (CNN) -- Will Tuesday be "Date Night" in Congress for President Barack Obama's State of the Union address?

Democratic and Republican legislators are pairing off to sit together for the annual speech in a symbolic gesture of bipartisanship, and some of the combinations so far are intriguing.

Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York, the epitome of East Coast liberalism, and Republican Sen. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, a symbol of conservative intransigence, are putting aside their differences to cross the political aisle for a night, Schumer said Sunday.

"I think if Coburn and Schumer can sit next to each other, then probably just about everybody can," Schumer told the CBS program "Face the Nation," adding: "It's true it's symbolic, but let's not forget (that) oftentimes in history, symbols influence reality."

Please like us!.........Please like us!

Given power the republicans once again squander it.

We really do not need a third party, we actually need a second party.

A second party that will use its power, when given, and not act like a bunch of 8th grade hall monitors that just want to be loved by those who detest them.

So much for the 112th Congress riding to the rescue! Less than a month in office and they’re already serving as the cabana boys for the Dems.

Its time to be honest with ourselves. The Congress isn’t going to save us. The courts aren’t going to save us. They have us by the balls through fedeal RICO/forfeiture/terrorism laws so bad that we aren’t going to rise up in armed revolt. Our brightest future these days is to quickly transition into socialism/communism/whatever they call the new slavery so at least we don’t have to work so hard trying to pretend that we are free and making a better life for our families through our efforts.

The clowns that are going to sit with their assigned progressive masters (commissars??) during the SOTU and clap like trained seals when Teh One commands are a disgusting disgrace to their oath of office.

They beat us. Let’s just pull the band-aid off and get this “progressive economy” going. I’m looking forward to my free healthcare, free college, 32 hour work weeks, 8 weeks of vacation, and whatever other socialist goodies they’ll offer.

Or should we continue to hold out so they sweeten the pot a bit. Free internet? Free cable TV? A dacha on the lake?

(Note to the sarcasm-impaired: most of the above was sarcasm. Most!)

They deserve any humiliation and condescension they receive from Obama.

It didn’t take long for Republicans to spit in the eyes of those who gave them the majority.

What a sorry bunch of SOB’s, sold us out with a tax deal before they took their seats and then sold usut again in their first month.

How frustrating. Why did I even bother to go to the polls.

It’s really strange how “bipartisanship” ONLY KICKS IN when the GOP is the majority. Must be a DemocRAT thing.

I was looking for an excuse to avoid any temptation to look, even briefly, at the SOTU address. Yesterday I got an invite to drive over an hour in the evening, possibly while it snows, to a meeting where I know almost no one. I jumped at the invite.

Looking at Obama is bad enough without seeing RINOs making nice nice with commies.

They know our critters are stupid and once again the Dems have turned a disadvantage—with the numbers against Obama—to an advantage. All it would have taken is a unified nod to tradition—and the GOP would have had the upper hand.

It took 50 some odd replys before the obvious ... for a Christian nation ?

Psalm 1 (King James Version)

Psalm 1

1Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

4The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

5Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Anything to keep the partying going in the Beltway. Any trick to grab from real citizens.

Right out of an advertising campaign playbook.

It’ll look great for the camera when those mean-spirited Republicans are sitting while the Democrats stand and applaud for whatever new spending entitlement Obama proposes. Tailor-made for the dems, and the Republicans are too dense to see it. :(

Good honest conservative patriotic elected Republicans and or Independents attendance at the State of the Union address just offers credence to the sham Obozo and proves them untrustworthy as well. We can forget about the good and honest remark, that won't happen any time soon.
