RE: macaca
If the electorate are so obssessed with ONE WORD, used just once, to the exclusion of policy and governing record, they deserve everything they get.
That’s GREAT to know and I’m happy to hear it. IMO, Wolf is way too enamored with using the power of the federal government to lord over us. He’s been swinging back to the right but he’s still sponsored legislation and cast votes recently that I don’t believe serve us well.
Thanks for the link. I’ll have a look.
Thanks for the info. I knew the district lines were drawn oddly.
Bummer about Fimian but maybe this new congress can reduce budgets enough that there aren’t as many in VA-11 scrambling for a taxpayer teat and he’ll fare better next time.
Tax payers are having to make tough decisions due to the policies of Washington and its past time for the FedGov to feel it.
Note I said STRONG conservative... not perfect. We can cherry-pick anyone's record all day long. I'm looking at the total package here.
Not sure how you came up with a $5k figure, but it sounds like you're OK with reelecting Webb, whose vote on 0bamaCare will cost all of us far more.
I don’t think he said that. Supporting in the primary and supporting in the general are two different things.
Can we all please bear that in mind?
I am not supporting Allen in the primary. I’ve had enough of establishment republicans and Allen is an establishment republican. But if he wins the primary, I’ll support him. And I expect the establishment republicans to support whoever wins the primary as well.
Yes, of course. I said target first, so I’m the one who should be “in the crossfire”. You shouldn’t be in the “firing line”.
If you don’t want Allen, please go vote in the primary. That’s your chance to be heard.
The figure is different for each individual, a couple of men that live near by said he cost them over 80,000, and they filed a suit. little boy george help change the method of computation for the pay out so it help his land owner friend on the east coast get a greater percentage.
IOW he's a big government conservative with a track record.
Good luck with that.
George Allen has an ACU rating of 91. So he’s no RINO.
He got a raw deal from the liberal media regarding his ‘macaca’ moment and barely lost in 2006.
I like his chances of winning in 2012. Maybe he can get Obama to campaign for Webb!
Well Scott, you having served as long as you have I’ll take your word for it.
And thanks for your service.
What area of Va you at?
I’ll start reading up on the Va. race.
Thanks,
I’ll read up more on him and the Va. Race.
I would say the state party leadership might have a lot to say about who runs for what office, as a lot of state parties do. If that person doesn't play by the establishment's rules, they will not get the support from the party and therefore, very little cash from from the heavy hitters in the state. That person would have to depend on the grassroots and risk being shunned by the state and county parties, and their supporters.
Virginia, with its rich history and deep pockets in northern Va., and elsewhere, may have a pretty tight group of kingmakers that, ordinary people who want to serve, might find hard to crack. Just my opinion.
Well if no one else viable runs Allen wins the primary by default. Looking at lists of potential candidates I don't see anyone we'd rather have.
Corey Stewart seems like a decent choice but he's unknown statewide.
Other serious candidates may run if Webb doesn't.
Is Congressman Randy Forbes interested in running for the Senate? I know that his name has been mentioned for statewide office in the past.
I’ve never heard about a Forbes statewide candidacy, but I don’t live in Virginia, so it’s possible.
