Boxer to Introduce Common-Sense Concealed Firearms Act of 2011(Barf Alert)
yubanet.com ^ | 22 January, 2011 | Sen. Barbara Boxer's office

Washington, D.C. January 22, 2011 – U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) today announced that next week she will introduce the Common-Sense Concealed Firearms Act of 2011, which would require all states that allow residents to carry concealed weapons in public to have minimum standards for granting permits.

Senator Boxer said, "The tragic events in Tucson earlier this month are a reminder of why we need common-sense gun laws. This measure will establish reasonable permitting standards for Americans who wish to carry concealed firearms. According to a recent poll, more than 60 percent of respondents believe there should be a reasonable permitting process for those who wish to carry concealed firearms."

Senator Boxer's legislation would require all states that allow residents to carry concealed weapons to establish permitting processes that would include meaningful consultation with local law enforcement authorities to determine whether the permit applicant is worthy of the public trust and has shown good cause to carry a concealed firearm.

Currently, two states do not permit residents to carry concealed firearms, while three states, including Arizona, allow residents to carry concealed firearms in public without a permit. The other 45 states require residents to obtain permits to carry concealed firearms, but the majority of these states would not meet the standard set in this bill.

Senator Boxer plans to introduce the legislation when the Senate reconvenes next week.

Senator Boxer shows her fascist roots. As I read the proposal, it would even require states that now have Constitutional Carry to establish a "may issue" permitting process that gives police the power to grant or deny permits based on personal whim.

Hmmm, Let’s guess what questions the good Senator Boxer (aka the “anti-maam”) would have us answer.

1. Q: Do you own a gun? Ans: yes Police: you fail
2. Q: Do you believe in Global Warming? Ans: no, Police: you fail.
3. Q: Do you sort your garbage? Ans: no, Police: you fail
4. Q: are you a member of a socialist organization? Ans: no, Police: you fail
5. Q: Do you believe in the Constitution and God? Ans: yes, Police: jailer!!

Wow...don’t you just love the idiocy of these moonbat asshats? Just because you name something “common-sense” doesn’t make it so. I think she should name her proposed bill the “I-am-an-extremely-wealthy-moonbat-who-doesn’t-have-a-clue-about anything” bill. Other than the entertainment value of her idiocy is there any rational reason for her representing anyone? What a complete pathetic fool. (Please note the “new tone”)

And exactly where in the Constitution do you find the authority to push this nonsense Ms boxer? Do you understand Ms boxer that many, many Americans view this proposal as an attack on our liberty. And you want civility! Are you serious?

The ONLY common sense rule governing firearms is the 2nd amandment to the Constitution. All others are for the express purpose of depriving Americans of the right to self defense.

Hey Mrs. Boxer. I have an idea. Rather than coming up with some new gun laws, why not just make it illegal to murder somebody? Oh, wait, I guess that's already illegal. Well, what about a law that will keep someone with a concealed carry permit from murdering someone? Oh, wait, the guy who did the shooting didn't bother with getting a concealed carry permit. OK, well how about a law that would require you to have a concealed carry permit before you could carry a gun. Hey, that would stop all the murderers and bank robbers who currently commit those crimes without a permit from committing any more crimes!

You gotta love the left First their already in place gun control requiring background checks failed and failed big time. Now instead of fixing tht problem, or even just having the local sherrifs do their jobs when it comes to reports about mentally unstable people, they just want to make another law that will do aboslutely nothing to prevent would be criminals from doing what they are going to do.

The recurring theme, evident over the past few years in particular, is that it is NOT the lack of laws and regulations that is the problem, it is the expectation that the government bureaucrats can enforce anything in a coherent manner.

1.) BP /MMS
2.) Katrina / FEMA
3.) Wall St / SEC

Need I go on?

So Madam Boxer wants to give us a federal permit to concealed carry.

What the left "gives" they can take away.

While many states were passing concealed carry during the 1990s, the federal government was baning rifles.

She is just playing to her base in a state that is "may issue" concealed carry.

The Civil War took away most States rights. Boxer wants to take away some more.

Madam Boxer is trying to set the table that states just hand out CCW permits like candy. She wants to require all states that allow residents to carry to have minimum standards for granting permits. So, requiring a criminal background check and passing a proficiency test isn’t enough? Just another excuse to dilute the 2nd and 10th ammendment by another dimrat. The minimum federal standards would be impossible to meet and have the ultimate result of disarming the population by regulation.
But I would bet that she has armed security.
all for me, none for thee.

I think the grabboids have learned from their experience with the AWB. They will use Tucson to ban magazines holding more than 10 rounds, and that law will pass, count on it. And it won’t have a sunset.

The only question is, will our currently owned mags be grandfathered?

But “high cap” mags over 10 rounds will be banned by 2012 and forever after. Count on it.

How about a “Common Sense Concealed Communist Act of 2011” being introduced in the House?
