ABC News' Devin Dwyer reports: One month after President Obama signed a repeal of "don't ask, don't tell," government accountants have finished tallying up how much the policy cost taxpayers during the 16 years it was in effect.
The nonpartisan Government Accountability Office said in a report released Thursday that each discharge of a gay or lesbian service member over the past six years alone cost $52,800, including administrative costs and costs to recruit and train a replacement....

We must remember how the GAO report stated a savings for nationalized health care. That was done because the Dims shoveled a load of garbage at the GAO and they, by law, had to use those fake numbers.

They didn’t figure how much was saved when they had to dismiss homosexuals when they harassed the straights. NOW it will cost the service millions to get rid of the creeps and more likely it will be Christians (bigots) who will be kicked out because they didn’t succumb to the little gestures of love. The military is preventing freedom of religion because they are making the Bible into hate speech.
Homosexuality is all about sex and lust.....just the fact that they are so promiscuous proves it NEVER is about devotion and love for another person. That is why it is such a disgusting act (aside from the diseases and damage)....no honor or character for people who engage in those acts and think it “good”. It always ends up in rampant pederasty, like Afghanistan, the Greeks and ancient Japanese.

Every government official from other countries were warned to watch their back when they had to interact with Germans.
We need to get back to the Christian paradigm that we used to be under for two hundred years. It is aligned with Natural Law Theory and perfect for a free and just people. We need to get back to right and wrong. You cannot teach young children that evil acts are good. Moral relativism has to be abolished in the schools....John Dewey put it in the curricula...that is why we now have such immorality in society. it creates an immoral people who will end up like the Roman Empire. If it wasn’t for Christianity, Western Civ would have died. No pagan, atheist, islamic, etc., societies could ever create the type of free-for-everyone country we had. It is not possible.
Morality is the fundamental element which can only be transmitted to children through an intact family where the mother thinks children are more important than her “job”. Raising children is the most important job in this nation and the Marxists have been destroying the family to destroy the morality of the children and make women think raising children is drudgery. Now mothers have no values, but very superficial ones because of the lack of knowledge because the schools were ruined by the cultural Marxists starting in the 30’s.

Of course we’ll never know the net cost - or maybe benefit - of the policy because the study didn’t look at the costs of the distractions, inefficiencies and personal conflicts which were avoided with the policy in place......

How many druggies were bounced out? The cost of each new hire to use 0b0z0’s words was an investment. A drug free service man/woman is an investment versus a druggie.
Now our military can’t discharge open homosexuals, we as taxpayers will be picking up the cost of housing and medical care for their serial partners.
Then, when the number of aids cases explode with the active duty gays and their serial sexual partners, it will cost about $100,000 per year for each identified aids case.
There will be no disclosure of present aids or other serious medical problems of the new dependents, and those costs will be budget breakers for the military in a few years.
Last but not least, any druggie or loser on active duty will holler discrimination when the military tries to get rid of them for not being a good soldier/sailor/marine/airman/coastie. So the bad stuff will stay on active duty as no one will dare get rid of the scum because of legal procedures against those trying to enforce the MCJ.

The expenses incurred by keeping gays in the military is likely to be at least an order of magnitude higher than the cost of discharging them. The solution would be to expend greater efforts to not recruit them in the first place.

It will cost a lot more to repeal. Also I’m sure that these costs are inflated. If you do some searching you you will find that the GAO has been steadily increasing these costs also they don’t adjust for those troops that don’t require replacements which is bogus anyway since the armed forces is consistently training new recruits. If this is the standard for costs then why not give us the cost for discharging any and all troops for whatever reason? The reason they don’t is that discharges under DADT is a very small percentage of total discharges and the vast majority of discharges are a result not merely from discovering sexual orientation but in conjunction with unwanted advances etc. It is a red herring designed like a magician’s trick to get you to focus on one thing while ignoring the magician’s slight of hand. The cost to eject slightly overweight recruits I’m sure is much more expensive since homosexuals are such a small percentage of the military. Right now for example the air-force is in the process of cutting 6000 airmen so gay airmen caught having indiscriminate anal sex placing them and their fellow soldiers at risk of serious sexual disease plus placing tax payers at risk of financing long term care for the spectrum of sexual diseases including AIDs which such individuals are at a high risk of getting. It had been estimated that the long term potential cost to the military related to HIV & AIDs could be billions of dollars. I think that is what I dislike the most about these phony numbers games. If we are going to take estimates that inflate the costs of discharging homosexuals many of whom were discovered because of accosting their bunk-mates in the middle of the night or being found frequenting gay clubs taking part in high risk behavior then it should also be considered the costs related to dealing with the cost of open homosexuality in the military something which the media both conservative and otherwise are too cowardly to address.
About 60 percent of the new HIV infections in the military are from homosexual contact. The military up to this point had a lower incidence of HIV than the general population. I expect that to change as the lavender brigade takes over. The British experience is that the homos setup little butt bang clans which often includes the initiation of new recruits that they believe can be forced into submission. Lesbians have a history of being aggressive too often targeting straight girls. That’s our new military.

In a discussion of the end of DADT on our local newspaper web site, I mentioned that the military would now be freer to prosecute homosexual harassment, the way they did TAIL HOOK.
Someone responded with a story about a female friend who had been complaining about the harassment she was receiving in the military from a lesbian in her barrack. She said that the woman was threatening to rape her. She took her complaint to her CO and was told to deal with it herself because he didn’t want the problems that the complaint cause him.
