It isn’t the GOP that will elect her President.

Thirty three percent will vote for Obama no matter what. So I guess this poll makes sense.

Ahem, please speak for yourself. I voted for McCain. Distasteful as it was. I felt it was my duty to try to keep Hussein out of the WH.

"Everyone knows Palin and they either like her or dislike her and months of campaigning ain't going to change a significant amount one way or another."

Disagree. It is a well-known fact that "apolitical" voters don't start to actually look into the record and background of the nominees until about a month before the election. Once people realize that the reality of Palin is nothing like the media image of Palin, I think the necessary switches WILL happen.

Are you sure about that? Conservatives did not vote for McCain.

Not this last round, perhaps.

However Sarah will do an excellent job in conveying conservative values as she has from day one.

“81% of Likely GOP Primary Voters have a favorable opinion of Mitt Romney”

Who are they polling? Democrats? I don’t know one single person who has a favorable opinion of Romney.

You can count me as one of the 33%...Gov. Palin is simply unelectable.

Why? Because weak minded individuals are being swayed by the leftist media assault against her?

Seriously, she'd rip apart just about anyone in the field in a debate if they took a position opposed to her. She's constantly lead the discussion on conservatism. I don't see anyone else out there, conservative or RINO who could surpass her ability to deliver and defend the conservative message.

M. Bachmann is good, but not above and beyond what Governor Palin has achieved.

The left wants people to believe she can't do it. Same as they wanted to believe Reagan couldn't pull it off.

If she wants it, it will happen.

I should add, I don’t think you or other FReepers are amongst the “weak minded”, that statement if offered as a point of debate, as well all know what the left is doing to her.

Most independant voters are indeed weak-minded...but they vote. The media has "Bork'd" Palin and she will never be able to attract independant voters. Sarah Palin can do the country a favor by entering the 2012 Repubican nomination and staying around in it as long as she can. In doing so, she will take all of the arrows from the media and the left...and then when another candidate is nominated it will be hard for them to successfully tear down that candidate.

You are correct, her not elect number is 7 points higher than it was two years ago. It was about 26% and has moved to 33%.
