White House official cites ‘education problem’ on climate
The Hill ^ | Jan. 30, 2011 | Ben Geman

President Obama’s top science adviser said there’s a need to “educate” GOP climate change skeptics on Capitol Hill as the White House seeks to advance its green energy agenda.

“It is an education problem. I think we have to educate them,” said John Holdren, who heads the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, in an interview broadcast Sunday.

Obama, in his State of the Union speech last week, called for deriving 80 percent of U.S. power from "clean" sources by 2035, and funding increased R&D of green electricity and fuels by repealing billions of dollars in oil industry tax breaks.

But the effort comes as a substantial number of GOP lawmakers, such as House Science, Space and Technology Committee Chairman Ralph Hall (R-Texas), are questioning climate science.

Holdren, asked about advancing Obama’s agenda in the face of skepticism, said the scientific evidence of dangerous human-induced climate change is powerful. “The science of climate change is really very clear in its essentials,” Holdren said on Platts Energy Week.

I know John Holdren. He is very smart and very well educated. He is also a committed statist and collectivist. He genuinely believes that persons such as himself can and should run the world for the betterment of all. He is a true believer and thus is a man of the most dangerous sort. He will never be satisfied. The only way to stop John Holdren is to fire his boss (Obama).

As usual, I am an uninformed, ignorant, cromagnon, hick chimpanzee who just can’t understand what these oh-so-smart-and-better-than-me, IVY-league-grad nobama minions say. Oh that I would only bow to their glowing intelligence. It is blinding me to the truth. I am stupid, though, because I doubt their BS on many levels and in all instances. They are to be praised and believed. I regret my inadequacies and incompetence. If only I could think like them...clearly and truthfully. Woe is me...

Indeed. The government's climate junk-science is essentially WRONG.

The science of climate change..

Oh we have seen the evidence of change in the DC climate ever since Carter.. this is just the latest hot burst of air.. but there is little resembling science behind it.

Yeah, real intellectuals with actual educations and a good grasp of actual science are a threat. They should start executing people who wear glasses, like their philosophical hero did in China.

Today is a good day to die.
I didn't say for whom.

Why yes, the elitists are just soooooooooomuch more intelligent than those “elected” (ewwwweee) heathens down the street.

We just need to sit them down and explain how wonderful and smart we are and just “ SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP”

ARROGANT A-HOLES!

John Holdren is the one who needs educating.

Global Warming is BS.

Yup -- too smart to perpetually fall for the B.S. the White House passes for science. The education problem they plan to address is how to dumb down the school system even further. We need to continue to clean House.

I look forward to this “Education,” as I’ve been most curious as to how the ice sheets and glaciers have been melting and our planet has been warming since the last Ice Age began to end 20,000 years ago, and now, all of a sudden, it’s all my fault.

More of a re-education problem, really. Hissing about "deniers" just isn't getting the job done. And oddly, neither is insisting that global warming makes it snow.

The current global warming prediction for Groundhog Day in Chicago can be found at http://www.crh.noaa.gov/news/display_cmsstory.php?wfo=lot&storyid=60828&source=0 It’s a mere half meter of snowfall, no more than New York City got last week.

Al Gore has no scheduled appearances. Apparently no one wants him anymore. http://eventful.com/performers/al-gore-/P0-001-000001956-6

Exactly!! But these Dems, as elitist and enlightened as they claim to be, are not about the environment, they could care less about it. ALL they care about is redistribution of wealth and using junk science to achieve that. Thing is, most of them are redistributing it to their own coffers, America loosing to China is just a nice nifty plus for them.

Why, yes, the problem from the GW snake oil industry perspective is that the ‘little people’ HAVE been educated and they now know the emperor has no clothes.

“Good Grief...” Indeed. John Holdren is about as far left and one world government as one can get. If I had to put him up against Hansen, I would be very hard pressed to say who is literally the most dangerous. F&%king anti-Americans. Then we have the silent one, Chu, with his slanted eyes...never has a word to say. That one ought to be totally ashamed with himself. He is a real scientist. He knows the real score at this point.
