Hilarious cartoon explains why Obamacare was ruled unconstitutional
YouTube ^ | January 31, 2011

Why was Obamacare held unconstitutional, and more importantly, how could the Democrats have been dumb enough to waste all their time and political capital on a law that was going to be overturned anyway? The video explains it all. This will definitely save some effort and heated conversations.

I would like to believe that today’s ruling is definitive but I’m afraid the score is now 2-2.

SCOTUS, show some stones for a change and ACT!

Yeah, it’s hilarious...but it’s hilarious in a SCARY way. That cartoon chick reminds me of so many real-life people I’ve met.

Last night I was looking into that website xtranormal.com. I need to give making those videos a try. Not sure if it is free to create them.

They automatically get published to youtube if you have a account there.

RE :” Funny take on liberals and ObamaCare...

JUST A SAMPLE :

You can pass health reform laws on the state level and see what works and if one does work all the states will copy it.”

Lib :” That will take too long”

Because they never created one that works?”

Lib :” It's just easier to pass a law for the whole country and assume it will work”

No need to test it?”

Lib :” Liberals are never wrong”

Remember when I said I didn't believe that libs really believe in the First Amendment except for protecting their own opinions? Just now 1at 0:50 EST MSNBC Ed Schultz has Al Sharpton on and is saying the FCC needs to having hearings about banning Rush from the airwaves. Sharpton said “You cant use the Federal regulated airwaves to make fun of someone for who they are”.

I seriously doubt the FCC would try this, but this is what some of these crazy libs want.

I am still nervous about this. Obamacare was declared dead once before in congress after Brown was elected. Of course Holder won’t agree to expedite the case to SCOTUS because he is hoping Obama will be reelected and one of the (more or less) conservative justices will die or become ill. And I am not 100% sure that Kennedy would overturn it even if it came before the current court.

Meanwhile, the executive branch is going to extend the tentacles of Obamacare as deep into the system as possible, so that “overturning it would cause great harm....”

I was never confident that this would be overthrown. While taxing you more FOR NOT doing something (aka a fine) seems new, them taxing you less FOR doing something has been a standard for a long time (aka tax credits.) Furthermore there is No penalty for not paying the fine/tax making it easier to argue it's just a punitive tax. So going in front of the SCOTUS is indeed a crapshoot.

The reason why these suits are important is to keep the PR political battle against the unpopular parts alive in the voters eyes. Never underestimate the importance of guiding the voters opinions. Having 53 states sue over Obama-care shows voters the immorality of the Federal government forcing Obama-care on all the states.

I called Boehners office and told him the next step is to have votes on a bill that allows individual states to do total opt-outs including the new taxes. Let them oppose that.

That's a good idea, but the leftists know what would happen if such a bill became law. Imagine Virginia wanted out and Maryland stayed in. Maryland would get a lot of new "immigrants" seeking health care paid for by somebody else (including some who are in trouble through no fault of their own, but are going to take a lot more in medical services than they pay for). Virginia might get a different kind of immigrants from Maryland: entrepreneurs.

I'm not sure how much wealth Maryland gets from people working in DC, but I don't think it's enough to make up for such a shift.

I believe those states that remained in collectively would not be able to pay for it. So count on the leftists to either block the bill, or amend it so that states who want out pay for it anyway.

My national ideas are not revolved around trying to make my neighborhood a better place to live at expense of the country. I am the first one to call the claim that ‘my tax cut pays for itself’ Republican Koolaid. (No I am not giving it back.) I like the opt out idea because I think it it is arrogance for the Federal government to micromanage states. If lib states want Obama-care, who are we to say stop them? and vice versa for conservative states wanting out? If CA wants more poor, let them put up the welcome signs.

It will take a lot before this area of MD is hurt economically. This is one of the richest areas of the country due to federal $$$$.

I agree 100%. I would be great if that became law (without a poison amendment), since it would allow people to choose not only via state elections, but via moving to states they liked. Also it would allow a comparison between freedom and Obamaism.

My point was that leftists would not allow (using filibuster or veto) states to escape for several reasons, one of which was Obamacare states would not be able to pay for their big government scheme.
