I registered in 1968 when the draft card was still stamped USPO ( United States Post Office). This did not change until
1990 when it became the USPS ( United States Postal Service).
How can obama’s draft registration be stamped USPS when he registered in 1980? It’s fake!

“I really doubt my name and address are sitting in folder in a government office. It is probably long gone.”

You might be surprised. My father registered for the draft upon turning 18 in 1951. He got a deferrment because he was in school and had the requisite grades (and he said to me that it was distinctly UNlike Vietnam - the profs were WW1 and WW2 vets who thought everyone should serve). When he got out of dental school he joined the Navy and served 2 years, plus 4 in the reserves.

OK, fast forward to about 1980 - Dad gets a letter from Selective Service - at age 47, having been honorably discharged from the Navy in ‘61. The envelope has forwarding labels from a post office in Brooklyn (where he grew up), Chicago (dental school), Pittsburgh (residency), Wheeling in West Virginia (another residency), Lakehurst Naval Air Station [ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvWC2H9DafM ], Toms River in NJ (off-base housing the first year of marriage) and a few personal residences on top of that. Inside is a rather irate letter which threatened him with fines and prison time if he didn’t report for the draft to his nearest Selective Service office (this at a time when there was no draft, mind you).

I don’t remember if he was more inclined to laugh about the stupidity of this, or to be pissed off about it. Plenty of both, I suppose. Anyhow, he wrote them a very sarcastic letter detailing his service to the nation and honorable discharge (including a copy of his DD-214), his age and a closing paragraph to the effect of, “I only hope that the Russians are more stupid and more disorganized than you are, otherwise we’re in big trouble.” He cc’d the letter to his Congressman and Senators. He never heard back from Selective Service.

So, somewhere underground (maybe near the Ark of the Covenant) is your draft registration card and mine...but probably not from the Usurper, whom I doubt ever registered.

I got the info from SS, and it is limited to Name, Birth date and SS Number and registration date.

They don't send the application information as we have seen with Soebarkah. That will require an FOI.

So the info I got is useless.

I tend to think he did register. He was living with his Granddad, a WWII vet, and the registration was big in the news. Granddad probably dragged his butt to the post office.
