Anti Mubarak forces apparently have taken the Oct. 6 bridge from which the pro Mubarak thugs had been firing on the square, killing at least 2 and wounding around 10.
Still hearing gunfire; one wittness says the army is firing heavy MGs over heads of protestors in order to intimidate / chase them away. Most of them seem to be holding their positions despite coming under fire.

Obama has the blood of these Egyptians on his hands.
As the American President, he has the power to tell Mubarak to pack up and leave.
If Obama didn’t demand that Mubarak go, he’s a liar and a criminal.
If Obama did tell Mubarak to leave, and he didn’t, then Obama is an ineffectual weenie with no standing on the world stage.
Either way, Obama is responsible for the deaths that are occurring now and will multiple tonight. It looks like we could be about to witness a bloodbath in Egypt.
My guess is Mubarak is a goner. I doubt he will be alive in 6 months even if he were successful in staying in power. The Islamists such as MB are now playing a very active role hand in hand with other anti-gov’t groups/people. Islamists are not Chinese students & intellectuals of Tiananmen Square, nor the mostly Islamic reformists of “where is my vote” post election in Iran in 2009. Islamists such as MB tend not to leave matters unfinished, they will fight ‘til they get the results they want.
Obama is way over his head. I venture to say that’s why he continues to shift his stance & utters generalities such as “we recognize the democratic aspirations of all people”, “there has to be an orderly transition to democracy”, bla bla bla...
We cant honestly pin this on Obama, lets be realistic.
U.S. State Dept. telling ALL Americas to head to the airport immediately.
God help all those reporters locked in their rooms. They could easily become hostages, or worse.

He gets on the phone and tells Mubarak that the three billion dollars the US hands over to him is gone. He then tells Mubarak to pack his bags, collect his voucher for his $100,000,000 retirement fund and pick up a ticket to London to join his family.

Lends credence to report of govt. goons firing from surrounding buildings. Large bunch of people in square in camera area just moved as if falling back - then stopped and are milling around. Ambulances trying to get in to square.
Woman on phone in square in tears. Little cover for them to hide behind.

I’m watching CNN and all they’re reporting is heavy gunfire in and around Tahrir Square.
No one’s saying who’s doing the shooting. I’m guessing pro-Mubarak suporters. Hard to say though.
Short bursts of what sounds like AK-47, interspersed with screams. Just heard what sounded like a semi auto pistol popping off about 10 rounds. Hard to tell just what’s going on...
