Sen. Jim Webb won't run for reelection in 2012 (D-VA)
Washington Post ^ | February 9, 2011 | Ben Pershing

Sen. James Webb (D-Va.) has announced that he will not run for reelection in 2012.

Webb's decision, long anticipated by many in Virginia politics, will make his seat more difficult to hold for his party. Ex-Sen. George Allen (R), who lost the seat in 2006 to Webb, is running to win it back, and a handful of other GOP candidates are also running. Some Democrats hope ex-Gov. Tim Kaine will decide to run for the seat, but he has given no indication yet that he is interested.

What difference does it make when I joined? I mean, really. How silly.

If the GOP that we just elected don’t start showing more cajones than we’ve seen thus far, we’re not going to get rid of obastard in ‘12. Turnout will be as proportionately underwhelming as the GOP performance.

The only person we know of for sure who is running for the VA senate seat so far is Allen. You don’t know if Cucinelli won’t run. Neither do I and I didn’t say he was. I just hope he does, and I’m not the only one who’s mentioned him.

Look at Allen’s senate voting record. If you think he’s going to impress the same Tea Party type voters that turned out and carried the election last year, you haven’t been paying attention.

I haven’t seen any rules that limit the number of posts a member can write on any given thread. When I feel strongly about something, I speak out. Instead of attacking me, why don’t you more fully address what I said. But if you want to just sit back fat, dumb and happy basking in last year’s election results, you’d be talking to the wrong person. Over confidence will be enemy #1 for the GOP come ‘12. It’s up to you if you want to be part of that problem or not.

RICHMOND - Virginia Sen. George Allen apologized Monday for what his opponent's campaign said were demeaning and insensitive comments the senator made to a 20-year-old volunteer of Indian descent.

Asked what macaca means, Allen said: "I don't know what it means." He said the word sounds similar to "mohawk," a term that his campaign staff had nicknamed Sidarth because of his haircut. Sidarth said his hairstyle is a mullet - tight on top, long in the back.

Not my words....

Simply that when you've been here as long as some of us, you recognize a pattern of trolls. Your consecutive posts appeared to be spammish. If they weren't, my apologies.

And no, Allen is not the only one for sure. Jamie Radtke declared in December. Corey Stewart has all but announced. Bishop E.W. Jackson has done the same.

And Cuccinelli has said he's not interested. I don't see that changing. He's not likely to give up the legal challenges to Obamacare to wage another campaign. Not yet, anyway.

No one is over confident. But you seemed to want to declare Kaine the automatic winner if he just decides to step in. That is far, far, far from the truth.

And, I can assure you, I'm not sitting back at all.

The blogger is wrong.

What people forget is the rat machine, and Kaine has the machine at his disposal as head of the DNC. He has all the markers to call in that he needs, all the money he needs, and all the control he needs. He has a great deal of behind-the-scene power.

Reid should not have won in NV, but he did, and that was because of the rat machine. I’m not saying Kaine can’t be beaten, but it’s no cakewalk, to be sure. I think when people consider these races, the only think about what voters like themselves want. They neglect to consider exactly what and how powerful the rat machine is. Think about this: if the rat machine wasn’t a political powerhouse - the orcs of the political world - the left wing hijackers of that party could not possibly have raised and held the level of power they have because their platform and message are abhorrent to American values and traditions. Yet they managed to take control of both houses of congress and the WH.

They should NOT be underestimated. I see people on this forum all the time pointing to this or that article that bouys people’s spirits but they never prove true. It’s all just feel-good tripe, back-slapping and self-congratulation. The reality is quite different. The left controls most of our institutions now, as impossible as that seems for America. My God, look at what they’re doing to the military. If they can control that, well, you see my point.

If you read a sampling of my posts generally, you would see that I’m not a troll. Perhaps that should be undertaken BEFORE the innuendo. If you don’t want to take the time to do that, perhaps you should deny self-gratification by just refraining from the innuendo.

I haven’t declared Kaine the winner. Others have said that Allen would walk away with it if it’s Allen vs. Kaine. Hardly true. The right never wants to consider how powerful the rat machine is. Kaine is head of the DNC. He has carte blanche as far as political favors, access, power networks and money are concerned. Reid shouldn’t have won, but he did because of the rat machine. Same for Bennett.

As for Cucinelli, most pols don’t want to say early on if they’re considering running. Cucinelli might decide he can fight deathcare in the senate if he has someone as earnest and capable as he is to go forward in his stead against deathcare on the state level front. Most likely though he has his heart set on the governor’s office, which is the preferred destination of most state AGs because it provides the executive experience needed to get to the WH. The governor’s office is always a clearer path to the top than through the senate. At any rate, not once have I said that I think Cucinelli will run. I just WISH he would. There’s a lot to like about him and he is a good example of the kind of candidates we need, not damaged goods and retreads. By contrast, George Allen shot himself in the foot with both barrels by apologizing over and over and over again about the macaca thing for weeks, which allowed the leftist slimestream media to destroy his candidacy, which shows me that he’s a typical dim-witted GOP pol lacking the spine to not knuckle under to media pressure by telling them to piss off. Instead, he tried to appease them. Appeasement NEVER works with an enemy that seeks your complete destruction as opposed to a reasonable person or entity just seeking an explanation. In other words, Allen is a weak sister and the rat machine would chew him up and spit him out in one bite with Kaine as their candidate.

I’m glad to hear you’re not sitting back expecting ‘12 to be easy because we did so well in ‘10. That will not be the case because it’s a prez cycle election. The right is fond of saying that obastard is another Carter so his chances of being re-elected are slim. In some respects his performance is a lot lack Carter’s - actually much worse. But there is a huge difference between the two ELECTORALLY. Those differences are organization, leftist rat control of institutions and balkinazation of racial and boutique special interests pressure.

That would kind of be like stalking...or trolling. I don't do that.

I haven’t declared Kaine the winner.

No, but you did say Allen will lose to Kaine.

The rest of your remarks, and probably subsequent ones, don't warrant my time. I learned a long time ago that I'll never convince any of the armchair pundits here on FR to change their mind. After all, every Freeper is the smartest Freeper.

So, believe what you will. Post what you will.

I'm needed elsewhere.

“I’m needed elsewhere.”

That’s good news.

Reading a sampling of posts would be stalking/trolling but looking at someone’s join date to suggest they’re a troll isn’t? You pick and choose part of the picture that you think supports a bizarre rationale that I must be a troll to be saying what I said and make a lame excuse to ignore the rest of the picture. If looking at someone’s posts or join date was stalking or trolling, they wouldn’t both be available with one click.

Your arguments don’t hang together, as I just demonstrated. That’s why you can’t change anyone’s mind.

See ya’.

Heh. I read some more of this thread. Now I get it. You were part of Allen’s loss to Webb and you need vindication/validation/revenge. You’ve got SLS (Sore Loser Syndrome). That’s why you’re jumping on anybody who either isn’t crazy about Allen or else thinks he won’t beat Kaine if he’s the rat candidate.

Iowa straw poll in Ames is only 6 months away ... who is your son’s choice for Prez? Des Moines is wonderful in the spring/summer.

I will not be going. Staying on the east coast ... but I just thought of an idea.

That’s why you can’t change anyone’s mind.

There's hardly enough of a collective mind left on this site to bother trying to change.

Believe as you will.

He hasn’t expressed a preference as of yet...he’s a conservative (fiscal as well as social) so whoever gets that prize, he’ll support. But I do think he’d rather be involved on a state level rather than a national effort, at least in the beginning.
Nice to have your interest...
that’s why I love Freepers...good people, for the most part.
