“I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt.”
So woule I on this one. First, that’s the general presumption under US law. Second, loans of this kind happen all the time with celebs, and she was not concealing the fact that she had the thing.
So I would want to know more about the circumstances of the actual TAKING. Did she sneak it into a handbag when nobody was looking, or did she walk out in plain sight? If she thought she had an agreement, with whom and when did she make this agreement?
“...basing your decision on looks and feelings is you being a big wussy liberal.”
Or a normal guy.
Well, unless you're Timmy Geithner, Ben "The Bernank" and all their Bankster pals engaging in massive fraud, perjury & asset-stripping of the American middle class.
In that case, you get a pass....
She'd make a great Treasury Secretary, Chairman of the Federal Reserve, or a vice-president at one of the Too Big To Prosecute Banks...
For those wondering the cutoff between petty theft and grand theft in CA is $950. Since the necklace is valued at $2500, Lindsay is facing a potential 3 year sentence in state prison, in addition to time for probation violation.
I have a hard time taking the American "justice" system seriously after Clinton and this newest Housing Bubble serial fraud by the financial class.
Looks like Lohan understands who she's dealing with - hired guns for The Elite.
Or hear about their funerals.
She should have taken it to Pawn Stars and sold it to Chumley.
She offered to campaign for Obama and was turned down because of her toxic rep.
I recently went though my Mom’s jewelry and my jewelry box to have some old gold melted down. I melted better crap than that necklace.....and it definitely is not worth $2500.
How is that necklace worth $2,500?
Looks like a nutt sack
“Some have to learn them a very hard way.”
If she wasn’t a lesbian now, she will be!
I’ve watched enough television to know what’s going on and I’m disappointed in how many Freepers automatically assume she’s guilty. How do we know it was even her that stole the necklace? How do we know that the real thief isn’t Jamie Lee Curtis, who could be trapped in Lohan’s body?
What’s the latest on her “I hate men so much but I’ll sleep with a chick who looks like a man” relationship?
That is a pretty crappy necklace for $2,500.
Yep, afraid so.
Yep, afraid so.
I smell an imbecile.
I’ll try the “thought-it-was-a-loan” ruse the next time I take a car out for a “test drive”.
I’m wondering who will kick the bucket first, this idiot or Charlie Sheen. Bets anyone?
The original owner spent alot of time and quarters to get that necklace.
Anyone who mistakes me for a liebral hasn’t been around here very long.
Hyperbole is in my blood, muckraking my mission. It can get real messy sometimes. ;-)
It was worth $250 until Lohan was spotted wearing it. Now it’s worth $2,500. And I don’t mean just to jack up the sticker price to make it felony theft. People will now pay that much to wear it or one like it since Lohan wore it.
In fact, that’s why places like this constantly loan jewelry to movie and TV stars. It’s valuable advertisement. It is reasonable for her to think it was on loan.
They should take each other out. With a "bang" of sorts.
Not in this context. Maybe for sex, yes. For letting people off the hook, no. Women let people off the hook for looks and because ‘they’re sorry’.
It ain’t guys spending billions each year to make themselves up. And it ain’t about that ‘girls have to do all that for guys’, that’s just a straight lie. About the last thing a gal nowadays does is take orders from a guy about their appearance.
She should be put in protective custody-at Charlie Sheens
She could be his driver. No, Wait!
She needs to complete the ‘Paula Abdul navigating roads&hillsides’ course first.
She’s looking quite attractive in that “Fatal Attraction” dress. It is almost identical to the dress that Sharon Stone wore to great fame in that film.
Obviously this girl is trouble, but seeing her in that outfit definitely softened me to her... or, well nevermind...
They will go easy on her. The system will, I mean. Because the system has too many people in it. The Prosecutor may throw the book at her, and the Judge may sentence her to the max, but the jail will process in and out really quickly because they don’t have room for theft cases even recidivists. The jails are full of hard violent criminals, as they should be, and due to overcrowding the people convicted of lesser crimes get first shot at making room for new violent people.
This young woman is on the fast rack to an early and painful death. I only hope she doesn’t take some innocent person with her.
You may well be right about the Banksters et al.....but this thread is about Ms Lohan.
I smell an ignorant liberal.
