Texas Rep. Ron Paul captures CPAC presidential preference straw poll by huge margin!!
The Washington Times Online Edition ^ | 2/12/2011 | By Ralph Z. Hallow

Texas Rep. Ron Paul has won the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) 2012 presidential preference straw poll of 3,742 activists, the chairman of the huge annual gathering of conservative activists announced on Saturday.

The poll, sponsored this year for the first time by The Washington Times, is seen as one of the earliest tests of grassroots popularity among the party’s dominant conservative wing, and Mr. Paul, who ran unsuccessfully for the nomination in 2008, has traditionally done well in the CPAC voting.

The Republican lawmaker, long a favorite of the party’s libertarian wing, took 30 percent of the votes cast, followed by Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney with 23 percent. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who has said he will not be a candidate in 2012, and New Mexico former Gov. Gary Johnson tied for third, with 6 percent of the vote.

Great to see Ron Paul and his worshipers are already prepping to keep Obama in office another four years. /sarc

How can anybody take Ron Paul serious after he suggested voting for Cynthia McKinney and now aligns himself with Ralph Nader?

"Paul/Kucinich’12?"

If he'll align himself with fellow nutcase Ralph Nader, why not Kucinich as well?

Who knows, maybe he run on an amnesty for bin Laden ticket as well.

How can anybody trust libertarians when their favorite
“son” loads up legislation that he knows will pass and
gives the pork while giggling “I voted against it.”?

“The Republican lawmaker, long a favorite of the party’s libertarian wing, took 30 percent of the votes cast”

So, when 70% choose someone else, how is it that getting 30% is such a big deal.

Is there much of a chance that Palin, Romney, Huck, etc. supporters (the 70%) going to switch to Paul? Not much.

So, that other 70% IS going to switch around between the various “not Paul” candidates, leaving Paul with his big 30% MINORITY.

And, that’s only now, before any real campaigning begins.

The Paul 30% at CPAC at this date means NOTHING.

The 70% still means somthing - 70% don’t want Paul.

I am glad to know that Ron Paul is from the government and he is here to help.

LOL - this reminds me of four years ago. The Paul Cult did the same thing - spammed these straw polls and then posted jubilant threads about how they spammed him to "victory" and how he was going to be our next president, blah, blah, blah....

They are pretty entertaining, though. :)

Here’s a little secret:
The organizational structures that support the positions of Ron Paul and Mitt Romney paid the entrance fees for over half the paid attendees this year, (also in 2008). Only paid attendees can vote in the CPAC straw poll.

Regular working conservatives don’t have free time like the poll stuffing Libertarian & Romney activists who have the time, freedom, and paid means to spend a week walking around a convention center in DC.

Ron Paul and his spambots won a poll at a Gay event. What does that mean?

I hate Ron Paul and all his Paulrhiod suicide monkeys who follow him.

Ron Paul’s win shows the utter pointlessness of straw polls, and, probably, the pointlessness of CPAC. Ron is NOwhere. He will always be NOwhere. As the proverbial stopped clock is, so is Ron Paul.

AstroTurfing is what this is. It seems that Ron Paul’s treasonous statements and associations don’t bother you, so I’m not surprised that you and other Paulrhoids would grasp on to this as somethin valid. You traitors are sick f€$&s.

Ron Paul is a LIBertarian, don't you know the LIBertarian position on abortion? It's the same position as LIBertarian’s kissing cousins, the anarchists, i.e, killem if it's “inconvenient”.

Why don't you take your suicide hero worship to another more suitable forum like some antisemitic, and Truther sanitarium?
