'No one told her to go there': Now FEMALE pundit lays into Egypt sex attack victim Lara Logan
Daily Mail UK ^ | February 16, 2011

A female political pundit has been heavily criticised for suggesting Lara Logan should have seen her sex attack coming - and for calling the Egyptians who were protesting for democracy 'animals'.

Debbie Schlussel posted a picture of Miss Logan on her blog, under the headline: 'Islam Fan Lara Logan Gets a Taste of Islam', before adding 'How fitting that Lara Logan was “liberated” by Muslims in Liberation Square while she was gushing over the other part of the “liberation".'

It comes as an American academic, Nir Rosen, yesterday resigned from his post at New York University after calling Miss Logan a 'warmonger' who was 'trying to outdo' rival news correspondent Anderson Cooper.

CBS correspondent Miss Logan endured a 'brutal and sustained' sexual assault and beating while covering the resignation of President Mubarak in Egypt.

The mother-of-one had been surrounded by an angry mob of 200 people before the assault which is thought to have lasted up to half an hour. She had to be saved by a group of women and 20 Egyptian soldiers and was later taken to hospital.

Yesterday Schlussel, who is Jewish, wrote: 'Lara Logan was among the chief cheerleaders of this 'revolution' by animals.

'Now she knows what Islamic revolution is really all about.

'So sad, too bad, Lara.

Victim focus is usually a leftist charge against the right. How convenient!

I wonder how this story would run if she had been assaulted at an American Tea Party by 200 conservative men...

Excellent point! CBS sent one of their foreign correspondents to cover a major news story. It happened to be her. It’s not like she was Rachel Corrie who went over there as a private citizen to stir up trouble. Ms. Logan was doing her job. Her politics have nothing to do with this. She should have our support, prayers, and well wishes.

In the cirles she keeps, she would still be the only one to possibly change her position in Islam.

If she would have taken her liberal goggles off, she would have know what Islam is all about and would not have gone out in the square (actually a circle). Apparently, those in charge of her activities thought Islam was a religion of peace also.

“Do you think she should be whipped to death? stoned to death? or beheaded for the crime of being raped?”

No, do you?

Do you think its proper to hide the fact CBS (with her willing participation) put her into a very dangerous situation? A situation with an entirely foreseeable outcome.

Do you frequently ignore reality?

Interesting that you bring up Rachel Corrie.

It’s universally accepted that she deserved to get smashed by a Caterpillar.

But what if she was raped?

I’m guessing you and Dr. Scarpetta and others would have VEHEMENTLY denied that she would have deserved to be raped.

So why the contradictions?

The Lame Stream Media told us ad nauseum how peaceful these demonstrators were, how much they wanted democracy, blah, blah, blah, while the truth was far from that. People are trying to compare Schlussel to Nir Rosen and the comparison is not there. Rosen is a lying Islamist apologizer who hates the USA and hates Israel. Notice how CBS tried to hide this story. Too many reporters were cheering on the animals.

“There isn’t any justification for what happened.”

Not so, if one believes in the Koran. If one believes the ravings in the Koran, becoming a Koranimal is not only justifiable, it is mandated by none other than MadMo himself.

The reports say she was not raped. Maybe so, maybe they are covering it up.

Worst case scenario, given the “serious injuries” line in reports by the networks and others - was she given a crude “female excision” while in the hands of that mob of Koranimals?

In Egypt, some 90% of women are mutilated in “female excisions”.

Nice people, those Koranimals!

Sorry, but Schlossel has long since gone ‘round the bend.
Her idea of ‘that’ll teacher her’ is just sick.

It seems that people have forgotten about Daniel Pearle. He obviously made a terrible, terrible mistake going to an awful place such as Pakistan where there is naked Jew hatred. He and his wife were in harm’s way.

Scarpetta wrote: I'm sick of people blaming Lara Logan for being raped.

Yes, the "She shouldn't have dressed that way." attitude isn't helpful. But there is a lesson to be learned by this episode.

We cannot allow our nation to be taken in by the Leftist narrative.

In our schools and in our entertainment and media, a template is relentlessly adhered to. Muslims good, Westerners bad. The idea that the uprising in Egypt was a wonderful upwelling of democracy and other tasty goodness is laughable. If democracy were to rise in most Muslim countries, the people would be bombing Christian churches, raping women (and punishing the victims), stoning adulterers and molesting children. The media Logan is a part of turns a blind eye to these kinds of 3rd world pathologies and sends female journalists into the midst of it. (I am reminded of the scene in the movie "War of the Worlds" when Pastor Dr. Matthew Collins walks up to the alien craft in peace - and gets barbecued. But I digress.)

So this rape was NOT AN ANOMALY. The sooner the American people realize this, the better off we will be. And in the end, just as it probably isn't a good idea for an attractive female to walk around Compton after dark, or for a bleeding man to jump into a tank of hungry sharks, it was a very foolish thing for Logan to go were she went when she went.

No, she wasn't to blame for being raped. Her willingly warped worldview was.

Blaming the victim is exactly what the Islamic barbarians do, we should not do it.

This reminds me of a post I saw last night that tried to spin it as “Mubaraks thugs did it”.... as if THAT matters a hill of beans.

Lara is now a liberal who has been mugged by reality. She never should have gone/ been allowed to go, to a mob scene. She was naive to expect to be protected because, what?, she is a Western journalist. It is terrible what happened to her, but not unexpected and totally within the rights/ rules of Islam.

She wasn’t asking for it but she was stupid to go there. CBS was even more stupid for putting her in a position for this to occur.

There is no justification for what they did to her. There should also be no surprise that it occurred.

She’s disgusting.

She said it “kinda warms my heart” ... her tone sucks. She sounds like she is happy Lara was taught a lesson.

Yes, Debbie is out of line.
