Karl Rove Knocks 'Birthers,' Says GOP Should Focus on 'Real Issues'
Politics Daily ^ | 2/17/11 | Chris Weber

Urging conservatives to focus on "real issues," Karl Rove said Republicans should speak out against those in the party who question whether President Obama is a citizen of the United States.

The GOP strategist said whatever percentage of Republicans are so-called "birthers," it "ought to be less."

He made the comments in an interview with Bill O'Reilly on Fox News, where Rove is a regular commentator. "Within our party, we've got to be very careful about allowing these people who are the birthers and the 9/11-deniers to get too high a profile and say too much without setting the record straight," Rove said.

Birthers believe Obama is not native-born and therefore is ineligible to be president. Hawaii officials have repeatedly issued statements that Obama was born in the state and that the health department holds a copy of his original birth certificate. A copy of the document has been made available on the Internet.

Yes. But, only the ones who led, planned and delivered the coverup strategy have to worry about questions of criminality. Rove having run the GOP from the White House during Bush’s terms in office, most likely fits that bill along with McLame and maybe (but I hope not!) Palin. Any Republican involved in any top meeting where a conspiracy to commit treason was hatched is better off in Egypt with the tender mercies of the Muslim Brotherhood if their crime is ever exposed and it creates a constitutional crisis for our country on top of everything else they have done.

Democrats protect their criminals with all they got. Republicans don’t. There won’t be a “bi-partisan” protection racket if a court goes after them and reasserts the constitution as the law of this land. They think they are above the constitution as long as they all agree and stick together in the crimes of violating it.

Rove is the reason I no longer identify as a Republican or send money to Republican groups.

He can take his country club, business as usual brand of conservatism and shove it.

I'm confused!

Hawaii officials have repeatedly issued statements that Obama was born in the state and that the health department holds a copy of his original birth certificate.
Shouldn't the health department hold the original birth certificate instead of a copy of it?

A copy of the document has been made available on the Internet.
(hey, Chris, try looking up abstract birth certificate)
First Time Applicants (passports)
*A certified birth certificate has a registrar's raised, embossed, impressed or multicolored seal, registrar's signature, and the date the certificate was filed with the registrar's office, which must be within 1 year of your birth. Please note, some short (abstract) versions of birth certificates may not be acceptable for passport purposes.
Oooooookay. If you think that'll fly then have at it.

So if the health department has a copy of the original BC then shouldn't that original be what should have been made available on the Internet instead of an abstract?

How much more proof do people need to see that the Republican and Democrat Parties are two wings of the same bird of prey.
