By then, working parents will be ready to pulverize them.

There must be a constitutional process for a Legislator unwilling to complete their term.

The GOP should start passing a new non fiscal law everyday and then hold a presser to make sure the Dems in hiding hear all about it. That should get them back to the state house.
I just heard on local radio, WISN, Mark Belling is reporting that one republican senator is “wavering”. I’d have to look up the name, he represents Racine.
We cannot allow the bastards to win.

Yeah, if the 3/5 quorum is only for fiscal matters, separate out the collective bargaining parts from the fiscal parts and then pass those.
Keep passing non-fiscal bills like Right-to-Work, CCW, ID for voting, etc. In the mean time, the state will run out of spending authority and unless the Rats come scurrying back, then the state will have to shut down ‘til they do.
Anyone find it a coincidence that all the dems bolted for Chicago?
I would love to see exactly were they are staying and whose footing the hotel bills/living expenses for what they are claiming could be weeks.

They don't have a quorum to pass fiscal legislation, such as budget related items. They do have quorum (50%+1) to pass all other legislation.
All they would have to do, then, is simply introduce a new anti-collective bargaining bill that doesn't include the provisions on increasing public employee contributions to the pension and health plan.
