“There ought be a law. I’m not kidding. You shouldn’t be able to pull stunts like this. It’s not funny.”

There is a law. That’s why they left the state.

The Governor should announce a short time limit for the return of the missing, and after that, if they’re not back, declare that the seats are abandoned, and that he will follow the established procedure for replacing dead or incapacitated congress critters.

Thank you Candor, I thought this as well. Let them go and just fill their seats. The same should be done to the teachers who left their jobs. They ALL forget they are “public servants”. Hope they all get fired.

“...and I think fleeing the State instead of voting could be their political death sentence.”

There you go. I have been saying this all day:”be still my beating heart! What a gift!

They are absolutely desperate! And they have confirmed everything we ever said by exposing themseves as communist/marxists for all the doubters to see. They have singlehandedly destroyed Obama’s re-election chances, and done it right in front of his own eyes, on tv.

I wish the Tea Party would wise up and back off and let them implode. If ever the saying was true: “WHEN YOUR OPPOSITION IS BUSY DECONSTRUCTING, STAY THE HELL OUT OF THEIR WAY, it’s true now. However, TP is gonna show up, I hear. Big mistake. We have every election won for the next two years. The Tea Party needs to wise up.

In October 1861, the Missouri legislature voted to secede and the bill was signed into law by the Governor. However, the North had military control of the state capitol at that time, the legislature continued to flee south to Texas where it stayed for the remainder of the war.

The North refused to recognize the secession (although the Confederates did) and replaced the Missouri legislature with pro-Union politicians.

The legality of most what happened is debatable but there is precedent for (a) replacing state elected politicians who have fled and (b) for the federal government to intervene/meddle.

In the present situation, the former favors the GOP and the latter supports Barack Hussein Obama and his union thugs.

The governor could cite incapacitation due to unknown status
of its missing members then appoint someone temporaily.

I absolutely agree with this. It is way past time we play hardball against these kinds of thugs. If you don't want to be in your seat and providing Representation to your constituents, then you have abandoned your position.

'Course actions like this will escalate the rhetoric against the Governor, but his only response in that case should be, "Then get your representative back to work, any representative refusing to do his duly sworn duty to represent his constituents is in dereliction of duty." Especially if they are outside their own state!

Their actions do nothing but demonstrate the "special interests" they are beholden too.

Democrats are for the people? The Tea Party needs to start running television ads explaining how these democrats have failed to represent their constituents whether their union or not. If they are not in Madison...they represent no one. A pointed and good question to be used against these fools would be, "Who Do You Represent?"

They should arrest them for violating Wisconsin’s open meeting laws:

Wisconsin Open Meetings Law
Wis. Stat. § 19.81-19.98

19.81 Declaration of policy.
...
(2) To implement and ensure the public policy herein expressed, all meetings of all state and local governmental bodies shall be publicly held in places reasonably accessible to members of the public and shall be open to all citizens at all times unless otherwise expressly provided by law.
...
19.82 Definitions.
...
(2) “Meeting” means the convening of members of a governmental body for the purpose of exercising the responsibilities, authority, power or duties delegated to or vested in the body.
...
The term does not include any social or chance gathering or conference which is not intended to avoid this subchapter,
....
19.83 Meetings of governmental bodies.
...
(1) Every meeting of a governmental body shall be preceded by public notice as provided in s. 19.84, and shall be held in open session.
...
How is their actions anything but an organized meeting of the democRATs - they left together, they are putting forth statements and it most definitely is not a social gathering.

The children who are missing school will hopefully learn a lesson more valuable than anything they would be learning in their classroom.
There's at least two things they haven't learned yet:
1) They'll have to make up the lost school days in June;
2) They're the ones who will be paying the outrageous taxes in years to come, for all the union thugss' outrageous benefits. Fools.
