Good to see this. Our leftist Chicago media have only reported on groups planning to recall the governor...

The Governor should announce a short time limit for the return of the missing, and after that, if they’re not back, declare that the seats are abandoned, and that he will follow the established procedure for replacing dead or incapacitated congress critters.

In October 1861, the Missouri legislature voted to secede and the bill was signed into law by the Governor. However, the North had military control of the state capitol at that time, the legislature continued to flee south to Texas where it stayed for the remainder of the war.

The North refused to recognize the secession (although the Confederates did) and replaced the Missouri legislature with pro-Union politicians.

The legality of most what happened is debatable but there is precedent for (a) replacing state elected politicians who have fled and (b) for the federal government to intervene/meddle.

In the present situation, the former favors the GOP and the latter supports Barack Hussein Obama and his union thugs.

They should arrest them for violating Wisconsin’s open meeting laws:

Wisconsin Open Meetings Law
Wis. Stat. § 19.81-19.98

19.81 Declaration of policy.
...
(2) To implement and ensure the public policy herein expressed, all meetings of all state and local governmental bodies shall be publicly held in places reasonably accessible to members of the public and shall be open to all citizens at all times unless otherwise expressly provided by law.
...
19.82 Definitions.
...
(2) “Meeting” means the convening of members of a governmental body for the purpose of exercising the responsibilities, authority, power or duties delegated to or vested in the body.
...
The term does not include any social or chance gathering or conference which is not intended to avoid this subchapter,
....
19.83 Meetings of governmental bodies.
...
(1) Every meeting of a governmental body shall be preceded by public notice as provided in s. 19.84, and shall be held in open session.
...
How is their actions anything but an organized meeting of the democRATs - they left together, they are putting forth statements and it most definitely is not a social gathering.

What would the legal standard be for Dereliction of Duty? Would it apply here? Some form of disciplinary action is called for, to say the least.

I hope at least one of them gets the signatures needed.

Even if it ultimately fails at the ballot box, it puts Democrats on notice that these tactics of running out on your state will not be tolerated by constituents.

All we have to do is go back to legislating all other than fiscal business.
This doesn’t need the special quorum numbers.

Start with open carry and right to work.

Watch them scurry back like.. well, like rats.

How’s this idea.

Someone put in a bill stating that since the Democrat Senators have abandoned the state, their offices should be declared vacant and any personal property inside them should be sold at auction with the proceeds going to the state as part of efforts to pay down the deficit.
