Posted on 02/19/2011 12:20:24 PM PST by rhema
[Madison, WI] As tens of thousands of public employees skipped work this week to attend protest rallies outside the Wisconsin State Capitol, many wondered if they would face any disciplinary action for unexcused absences.
On Saturday, a group of men and women in lab coats purporting to be doctors were handing out medical excuse notes, without examining the patients.
I asked this doctor what he was doing and he told me they were handing out excuses to people who were feeling sick due to emotional, mental or financial distress, said Christian Hartsock. They never performed an examhe asked me how I was feeling today and I said Im from California and Im not used to the cold, so he handed me a note.
Another woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said they were handing out excuses like they were leaflets.
I asked if they were handing out doctors excuses and a guy said yes and asked me if I needed one, she said. When I told them I needed one for February 16 and 17th, he wondered if I wanted to come back here for the protests next week.
What happened next?
I said, sure, and I received a doctors note for the 16th through the 25th of February, without a medical exam.
The notes read
Feb 19, 2011
Date of birth ____/_____/_____

WI license number
Based on an examination of the signature and medical license number provided, one of the men handing out these notes was purporting to be James H Shropshire MD, a Clinical Associate Professor at the University Wisconsin Madison.
At this time, MacIver News Service is attempting to contact Dr. Shropshire to see if indeed he was the one handing out the notes on the Capitol Square.
Drudge has it up.
Some doctor is going to lose her license.
Hannah M. Keevil, MD

Hannah M. Keevil, MD is board certified in Family Practice and has 21 years of experience.
On the other hand, to be fair to the accused, maybe they just picked her at random and forged her name.
Either way there should be legal chargs filed.
And now that this scam has been exposed those doctor notes are now worthless.
If this stands, the Wisconsin Board of Medicine is a JOKE.
A law enforcement unit needs to match up the individual teachers with the doctors who signed their excuses then prosecute to the max which one, or both, is lying.
FWIW, I’m finding Keevil spelled with an “i”, but with “M” for a middle initial. Can’t find anything for a Hannah L. Keevil, which is the spelling on the note.
(signed) Epstein’s Mother
Every time these perps pull a new trick, I’m shocked all over again. The fraud, deceit, dishonesty, and lies they generate seems to escalate by the hour. Never thought I would live to see such a mess and wonder if it will ever end. What price is their soul?
I take it back. Blasted MD handwriting. I think that’s an “h” I’m looking at at the end of Hannah.
Is this like a hall pass? I think that would be against the law, handing in false Doctor Documents!
The last four letters in the doctor’s name are E-V-I-L. You can’t make this stuff up.
It sure looks like Hannah Keevil in that vid.
There is no “L”. The ‘h’ at the end of Hannah is what looks like an L. As far as I can tell, there is no middle initial in that signature.
MacIverInstitute: Wis Doctors Hand Out Fake Excuses to Protesters
The website lists the medical insurance companies this "doctor" accepts. Maybe the insurance companies should be made aware of the doctor's questionable activities:
PersonalCare Insurance of Illinois
Great West Healthcare
Blue Cross & Blue Shield
First Health Network
I wonder if these insurance companies accept complaints concerning doctors they do business with?
I wonder if the person doling out the notes was the actual practioner in question.
And these “teachers” dare discipline a student!?
Never shall any child of mine attend a public school!
I am ashamed that I did!
Notice in the MacIverInstitute video that one doctor is trying to scare the interviewer off with some legaleze about doctor-patient privacy ...even though he’s “examining” his patients on a street corner in the middle of a gigantic demonstration. Know your enemy.
I can’t believe that jackass is actually trying to use privacy laws as cover when he is standing in public openly committing fraud in full view of anyone who happens to walk by.
I have read they promised to be back in school on Tuesday.
This makes me think they will be out much longer
Poor kids will celebrate July 4th in school
Ha, you got it. I’m too slow. LOL.

Governor Walker needs to commemorate the centennial of Ronald Reagan’s birth by handling this situation the way he would: FIRE THEM ALL!!!
What they need is people from the state handing out real pink slips. 50% of teachers and 75% of school administrators are completely unnecessary. Those who produce will produce absent of all this Bolshevik rhetoric. Government workers are not more equal. Uncertainty of job future is a known motivator.
HIPAA Privacy Rule, which protects the privacy of individually identifiable health information; the HIPAA Security Rule, which sets national standards for the security of electronic protected health information; and the confidentiality provisions of the Patient Safety Rule, which protect identifiable information being used to analyze patient safety events and improve patient safety.
Only a fool would claim HIPPA standing on a freaking street corner handing out FAKE sick notes for protesting teachers.
This is how liberals use the laws, they make up rules as the go.
There will be blowback on this one...
I hope so, but I won’t hold my breath. These bastards seem to get away with more and more outrageous behavior.
I agree or else they wouldn’t be so blatant about it.
While there may not be the kind of fireworks-in-the-sky, license-losing, publicly humiliating, above-the-fold front-page news that we'd like to see happen to these quacks...a lot of folks are watching this and making up there minds as to how they're gonna vote in 2012.
I think the blowback will be revealed then...on a much grander scale.
Fox News just ran a story on this! Two wonderful ladies showed their ‘sick note’ they stood in line to get to prove fraud.
Fox just covered it live with some gals that got the fake notes.
It's going VIRAL, baby!
It’s seems there is an epidemic in Wisconsin. Has anyone called the C.D.C. for a quarantine yet?
Did these “doctors” perform exams on the street corner? How is this NOT fraud? I would be happy to testify against any of these people. They should lose their licenses. They “might” have gotten away with this if they set up some kind of tent and actually submitted a diagnosis code. I’d be prosecuted if I did this in my office. It would be funny (not really) if one of these sick people had a heart attack. Their families could collect MILLIONS in malpractice judgements. These “doctors” are a disgrace to the profession.
Suspend the license to practice of the unprofessional physicians, and if they are state university employees then they should be fired as well.
This has me livid.
ping for fax number
They should do HARD TIME for what they are doing! That is nothing but FRAUD trying to get money (paid sick leave) for the teachers protesting.
Any doctor involved in this should lose his license. Period.
This is why you should never lie—because it takes even more lies to cover up the first one.
These protesters (some of them anyway) are teachers?!? These unethical, lying cretins are teaching children?!? Yes, I would fire these so-called teachers immediately if I had the power. They should be light years away from children.
Can you believe this?
How ignorant are these people!
Hahaha! Fox is hammering this.
Fox is doing more on this story shortly! Gregg Jarrett is on it!
Yes. The “doctors” handing out the fake notes and any of the people accepting and using them need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
