Agree with you both. If leftist and highbrow universities ban ROTC then they should forgo federal funds.

You make a good point. ROTC allows enables common folk to become officers in our military and brings a mix to the officer corps.

They should thank the man for being wounded 11 times in defense of their fundamental right to be assholes.

Columbia is a private school and Sgt. Masheks attendance there is government subsidized That's true but Columbia also receives federal funds.
excerpt:
Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.) has introduced a bill to cut federal funding to Columbia University after it hosted a speech by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Hunter seeks to cut federal funds to Columbia University

Time to cut off their federal money. All of it - grants, contracts, tuition assistance of all kinds, etc, etc.
To: jazusamo
I think that schools that do not allow ROTC or recruiters on campus should lose all federal funding.

Concur.
Land grant public colleges are required by their charters to offer military training. Any school, public or private, that discriminate in this way should have ALL federal funds taken away.
In Columbia's case, perhaps they need to make the acquaintance of a 22,000-lb. GBU-43/B MOAB (massive ordnance air blast) bomb.
